Default Specified auto-save to a different directory (than project) and no bak files appear?

I changed the setting of where Reaper auto-saves backups to. I nominated my own directory because I didn't like seeing .rpp-bak files everywhere in the project directory.

But now I see that no auto-backup files actually appear in this new directory.

Is this is known bug?

Edit: seems to be working now, but still not auto-saving every 1min as per my setting. Oh well.

Every 1 minute, why so frequent, may be there is some setting preventing that. Is your computer so unreliable that you need it at that frequent setting.

It's not about my computer being unstable. It's very stable.
It's about not ever losing more than 1 minute of work.

A crash does not need to be frequent, it can happen at any time, and if I've just performed a lot of steps in 1 minute I'd be pissed if I had to do them again. I've always worked this way.

I delete the .rpp-bak files every couple of days so storage is not an issue.
