Default Best way to setup Video for Reaper 5.965

I'm pretty new with Reaper, and when I first installed it I tried to load a .mp4 movie from my media window and had issues obviously. Well I started searching and many people talk about adding these 4 ffmpeg files to the REAPER (x64) folder from that aegiscorp website.

I am just asking anyone what is the best way to get video working on 5.965?

Thanks

It depends on which system you are using. On windows Reaper usually uses VLC as first option decoder for video. Its meant to play every video in Reaper that also can be played in VLC.
You also can install (download) ffmpeg for decoding. But this needs to be adressed in the decoder priority list. (preferences/media/video). Right next to this list is also the "Show available decoder" button which should help you to determine if you even have a working decoder on your system and where it is located.
