Default edit cursor moves to play cursor on pause when in external sync mode

More accurately stated, when I activate "Enable synchronization to timecode" in the External timecode synchronization window. and then start my master machine that is feeding timecode to the reaper slave, it goes into play. Then when I press stop on my master, the slave goes into pause. At this point, the picture or video that is being shown is back at the edit cursor and not where the play cursor is. This is true even if I have my spacebar set to play/pause.

Does anyone know how to make the edit cursor the same as the play cursor? Or make the edit cursor update to the location of the play cursor when "Enable synchronization to timecode is activated and it is in it's "paused' state because the master has stopped?

The result I am trying to achieve is to have the reaper video slave follow the location of the master cursor where ever it is whether it's playing or not.
