Default effects list on TCP

would be cool if there were a button that exposed a list of the track fx on a certain track, for easy access to them, undocked of course, and also to turn them on an off. Samplitude does it like this:

For REAPER, we have the fx chain window seperate, which is cool too, and this is what it looks like:

if there was a button to the left, like a maximize button or something similar, it could reveal something like this:

of course, this would be totally transparent for those that dont want it. If you used this way of fxchains, you would just have to right click on an effect, and there it shows up, undocked, wherever you like. If you wish to have more than one open at a time you can, but there could be an option so that more than one doesnt show up at a time.

either way, totally transparent for those that like to do it the normal way. I just find this way a bit more intuitive.

How about right click FX pops this menu up? (Also hovering the FX button already shows a tool tip with the FX on that track)

Hmm - this has been requested many times before and I'm the biggest fan of anything that increases the visibility and usability of Reaper!
Pop-ups and sub menues are definitly not the way to go IMHO.

The GUI wins when it shows what you need to know and loses when you need to bring up something else - its that simple.

Cheers

If you hover your mouse over the FX button, you get a list now.. I know it's not in full view, but goes some way.

Yes we've had much talk about this in the past, so it's good to see it in the spotlight again.

Guys, not even close....Hands free at a glance is what we're looking for.

Well, how should this be handled then? - I mean if the tracks are zoomed enough, you have space beneath there meters (to show the FX chain), okay, but what if they are collapsed or you have simply too many FX on the track to be shown. Just show the first 3 or whatever FX, but then you wouldn't get it all "at a glance" either.

Maybe a "FX window follows track" setting would be a first improvement, won't it? - It would also be easy to impliment.

Please don't get me wrong I'm all for UI improvements and stuff...
