Updated post according to the FR guidline:
Request
I would like to be able to hide the toolbar and the ruler of the MIDI editor.
Benefit
Save GUI space, when MIDI editor is used in docked mode.
Reason
At the moment, when using the MIDI editor in docked mode the toolbar and especially the ruler need a lot of space, which can be redundant, while you already have the ruler of the arrangement view. The toolbar could also be useless, if you mainly work with keyboard and mouse shortcuts anyway.
Implementation suggestion
There could be an option to hide the toolbar and/or the ruler from the MIDI editor. Maybe even depending on its docked state.
Another idea for the toolbar could be: an option to dock the MIDI toolbar into other places of Reaper so that it still can be there, but won't need space in the MIDI editor anymore.
Old post:
Hey there,
since it seems that it is not possible, like my
other thread tells me, somehow, I wanted to start a FR here.
When using the MIDI editor docked there is a rather huge toolbar and the ruler. Especially when linking the timebase to the arranger view, it seems a bit redudant to me to have two rulers. Also I personally do not use the toolbar, or I could put it on the top or so to use it, but: I cannot hide the toolbar in the MIDI editor.
So save space and make Reaper more compact when using it the way I described, I would suggest to add the options for the user to:
- Hide or smallen the ruler
- Hide or smallen the toolbar
Thanks for your attention!
Edit: I just found out that there are FR guides. So I updated my thread to follow
these guide. Thanks community for the guidelines! And sorry that I did not stick to it in the first place.
