Default Xpand2 Plugin Randomly Switching Presets

I have recently purchased and installed Xpand2 for the latest version of Reaper. I am running Windows 10 Pro.
I was a previous user of Pro Tools. So I wanted to keep using the plugin but in Reaper.

I get odd behavior in Reaper that I do not experience in Pro Tools with the Xpand2 plugin.

If I have multiple midi tracks and each one has its own instance of Xpand2 as FX
When I close the project and reopen it, sometimes the presets on the Xpand2 plugins will change to a random preset. Even though I had saved my project with the desired presets being active in the plugins.

Another odd thing is, that if I do not press play after I open the project and actually check the plugins on each track, the correct preset is active.

As soon as I click play, they change to some other random preset.

I do not experience this in Pro Tools. I assume the Xpand plugin that Pro tools is using could be an older version of Xpand2?

The Xpand2 version in Reaper is 2.2.7.

Any thoughts are much appreciated.

And you're sure you don't have program changes in the midi events?

Is this what you mean regards Programme change in the MIDI file ( refer attachment )?

I'm having exactly the same problem - spend 20 minutes setting the song up nicely, save it, start to play it and all the 4 Xpand2 settings have gone.

Yes, this is it. You should use midi filters to wipe it out. If there are no any, I can share with you.
