Default Carla & sfz/sf2 soundfonts?

Hi,

I make a new topic so it doesnt mess with the other one.

@glennbo
How did you get sound in Carla/Reaper when you load soundfonts? I try this yesterday but not a single peep. I see the meter is active in Carla when I hit the keyboard but nothing in the track in Reaper. I use Sonatina Symphonic Orchestra in sfz format.

I installed the whole carla-git package.

I see six different "Carla" items in REAPER, and not all of them support playing instruments. The one I always select is the one that says,

VSTi: Carla-Rack (FalkTX)

and after selecting it and setting the track for midi inout, I can load all my sf2/sfz files and play them.

Thank you. Back to the test (B.T.T.T)

Download Sforzando and install it in the same place you have all your windows VST's. They you can add that folder to Carla and you'll be able to use it with your soundfonts. Sforzando can handle more advanced SFZ coding and won't return errors.

Sforzando runs very well in wine.

I know. I used it alot, but I wanna go Linux Native as far as I can without Wine. I stick with SFZero for now and Linuxsampler/Fantasia.

My only problem with ZFZero and LinuxSampler is that I can't use most of the drums I already own leaving only a couple of less natural sounding ones which is a pain. Until they don't update the code I'll keep using Sforzando.

Default "Sforzando" soundfont player? I have a question.. Easy fix??.

I tried Sforzando...it seemed to work...

It installed fine, but it didn't play the MIDI track I put it on.
However, as the track played, the Sforzando "kjeys" would turn blue, indicating that it was recognixzing the MIDI..but I couldn't hear anything.
All the while, as I "played" (silently), I could mouse-click on any of the "keys", and hear the soundfont play just fine.
Yet, I couldn't hear it.

Have you ANY idea what the problem might be, or how to fix it?
I would love to get this w\to work...but it doesn't seem to...and it seems like it would be a simple fix.

Thoughts?

Thank you for taking a moment to read this!

Peace,

Keith
