Groove, Rex and Midi

Can anyone point me to:

How to Groove Quantize an imported Rex?

(I can make the midi file using Create Chromatic, and groove that midi...but how do you then make that midi play the slices?)

Or, is there an easier way to groove a rex, all within reaper?

Load the rex as slices
Ungroup all the slices
Select all the slices
Run the groove tool/Apply to items

If you still struggle let me know and i will do a video as soon as i get chance
