Default Insert empty measures?

I've decided a part in the middle of a tune I'm working, should also lead off the piece. How do I insert an empty bar(s) at the beginning of all tracks? Kinda confusing to me as the part I want to make room for is in 6/4, as opposed to the 4/4 section that now leads it off. I need those empty bars to record the new intro, or maybe copy and paste from the middle. Sorry if this is stupid or doesn't make sense.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Hi Stephen. I think I get what you mean and it seems a very raesonable thing to want to do. Can you not simply select all items (Right Mouse Button and Drag) and drag them the required number of bars to the right? Might help to have the snap to grid on as well.

Try time selecting the number beats you want added right at the beginning of your project, right over the items, then go to insert > empty space at time selection. It should move everything later for you, I believe.
FYI I am using reaper 5.99. I believe there is an action you can assign for this.

Thanks very much for the responses. They were very helpful. I was able to insert an empty measure of 6/4 at the beginning of the piece. Trouble is now I would like it to occur in a few more places and making room for it in these new places isn't quite as easy. Thanks again to you all for taking the time to help.

I think the link I referred to explains how to create spaces at different locations in a project.

Thanks very much. I've watched the entire video a few times now, and if my song was all in 4/4, I think I could do it. The problem is I've got sections of 4/4, 6/4 and 7/4 spread throughout the song. I can't figure out how to move things around without screwing up my time signature markers. I appreciate it though. That's a very good video.
