Default LePou Cab IR files ?

Hi all,

I'm using a cab simulator VST (LePou Cab 1.0) ; there are two "FILE" buttons, which allow to load IR files ; I think those files are small audio files representing some kind of cab sound (Marshall, Fender, Vox and so on).

Do you know where those IR files wan be found on the web ?

Thank you

Another one:

IR stands for Impulse Response. You can understand exactly what it is (including why it can be used to simulate amps and mic) in the Wikipedia entry:

Make sure you flip the switches from "Internal" (the two IRs that come with LeCab) to "External".

Yeah,I like Recabinet too.

I'm using an older version that doesn't use IR's,and it's still good.
I've been using LePou's LeCab2 for using IR's

I have the older ReCab up to 2.02 (a zillion of IR files! LOL) and the new one, Redwirez, God's cab, and I find myself using the IR's that are linked from the Voxengo Boogex site created by gregor hennig musikproduktions / le chatelet studios more than all the others, especially the Bass ones.

The Audiocation-Compressor, TSE B.O.D, and Voxengo Boogex running the le chatelet IR's makes for one great bass setup, for 4,5,or 6 string bass IMHO.

Nothing against LeCab, it works fine, but it was just one of those pieces of software I never warmed up to.....

Are there amp sims for bass amps?? I don't think I ever came across that, but if there is, I'd love someone to point me to it. Thanks!

There's one here:

http://www.igniteamps.com/audio-plug-ins

And they are generally available in the paid packages like Amplitube, Guitar Rig, etc.

The very cool Fretted Synth collection had a couple free for-bass amp sims that work well with the Boogex / le chatelet studios IR's, and even the FreeAmp series had some decent setups in them for bass. You can find the collection on the Rekkerd.org Site.

I broke down and grabbed the Markbass 1 setup from Overloud and have not looked back...IMHO the newest Mark Studio 2 don't sound as good as V1, so I have not updated....I hate it when they "improve" something! LOL

Thanks for the tips! Right now I'm sittin here in the dark on my iPhone enjoying the aftermath of a lovely storm that's rendered most of the county powerless. So there will be no musical joy tonight. But I'll get on it as soon as I have my computer up and running again.

Check the http://www.guitarampmodeling.com/ forum. You will need to register but there you will find a lot of cabinets IRs, including some bass ones. Try the search buttom to find those threads easily.
