Default MIDI controller and TouchOSC interoperability

I use mostly my TouchOSC to control Reaper, but when I use an iPAD synth I use the BCR2000 as a controller. Playing a bit with this I noticed the following

changing volume on BCR does NOT affect TouchOSC
changing volume on TouchOSC does NOT affect BCR
changing pan on BCR does NOT affect TouchOSC
changing pan on TouchOSC does NOT affect BCR

there is something weird going here, though
tracks that are grouped work in both directions, BUT NOT the track that is operated. Example: I have 3 tracks grouped. when i use the slider of tr 3 on the TouchOSC then on BCR only tracks 1 and 2 are affected. Other way around gives the same results

mute buttons work fine vice versa
solo buttons are a mess

all operations with the mouse give the right results to both BCR and TouchOSC.

HOW can we bring order?

Should I move this to feature requests? or bug reports?

Default Perhaps Tangential, but: Another Option

Hi. This is tangential to what you're asking, so I hope I'm not annoying anybody with this post.

I am the author of MIDI Designer for iOS. We have a Lite version (free) which would allow you to try out some of these same concepts in another app. This is all a big "so what?" except that I could personally help you (through our own Q&A site or via our Contact Form) to get the interaction between the BCR2000 (I've actually got one here, in a box), MIDI Designer and Reaper working correctly (or giving up, if that's what we discover ). The reason we both have a BCR2000 is the bidirectionality (and price), of course.

I almost forgot to mention: MIDI Designer does not use the OSC protocol at all: only MIDI (full bidirectional everything, including NRPN and sysex).

Anyway, thanks for reading, hope I'm not bugging anyone with this post.

Best!

It looks like something I have to get into. I'll try the free version first. Does this operate via wifi also? |The knobs and sliders don't have the look and feel of TouchOSC which I like so much, but if it gives me more freedom (like I can emulate complex vst's like Ozone) then I'm in.

So, thanks I will get back to you about this.

In the mean time: OSC and midicontroller sync operation is still something that I'd like to see.

Default Wi-Fi Yes

Yes, we do CoreMIDI over Wi-Fi and over all existing hardware (Line6 MIDI Mobilizer II, iRig, iConnect, etc.). The Lite version is made for checking out and deciding what you think. With up to 12 controls on the iPad, it should be enough to really get an idea if the App is your cup of tea or not.

Thanks for responding and for checking it out. I'd love to hear your thoughts whether you dig it or not.

Best!
