Hope this helps

You can use overlays to put boxes round the pan/vol info and track number but you need to kind of work backwards using the mcp background as the background for these boxes and overlaying the foreground but I think you might have problems with the size of the pan and volume faders(you really need to be able to cut rectangular cutouts) but I'm sure you've probably worked all this out already.........Anyway Good luck on getting this working properly.............

Just used this theme today for a couple of hours - it's a real beauty and is living up to the hype so far. Obviously there's a few glitches, but nothing to stop me really enjoying working with it so far.

I love the look of this theme in all the previews...
but alas! I cannot work with it. I need my fader throws longer. and that mucks everything up...

It makes me thing that cockos should rething some of the themeing stuff...

I think that we need more backgrounds. pan/vu readout_bg, track number BG, for starters, so that designers could make a scalable bgs for theme elements that will not break if you resize the TCP or MCP.

bummed out. was really looking forward to this one.
great work nonetheless.

Yes please pan/volume info box backgrounds would make this so easy.
Track number backgrounds as well please with the ability to change text color.
Hear's the FR.

For all those that want a quick fix.

https://stash.reaper.fm/manage_file/3...y%20inlays.rar

This is a Dirty hack. I just used an overlay I've been playing with but as you can see you have to use to much transparency. To do it properly would call for rebuilding the entire mixer as a set of overlays and I don't know for sure if it would really work.

I hope you don't mind me posting this Ortsteam.
If you do let me know and I'll remove it.

Pans at the bottom... Pinkpaste the vol/pan field on the mcp_bg... The name_bg will travel along with the stretch on top.

Had a quick go using an oversized overlay

Problems ... Will only work with one track color
i.e selected track has to have the same background as unselected track.
Could use a border coulou instead though.

I've uploaded it so you can have a play

https://stash.reaper.fm/manage_file/3...uty%20mods.rar

Hope this helps.

Downloaded.

First impression:
WOW!!! Ortseam, thank you for this splendid theme!!!
Best theme I've seen till now, extremely user friendly and fun to work with!

One "bug": when minimizing a track, the tcp_bg gets over the name area.

Hears the results .............

This works well apart from largest of mixer settings.
Unfortunately the background shows threw in between the efx backgrounds dont know if you can prevent this.
You can't use transparency or alpha shading as the background has changed

This is a very rough hack to see if pan/info boxes would work using overlays so please excuse my sloppy cut and paste techniques required to get this working quickly (stretching of pan vol sliders) .

Hope this helps you getting this beautiful theme working properly

Don't know if it's a Mac only problem, but the track title labels look oversized and corrupt?

Everyone, he's still ironing out the problems. The main problem is that he has so many great ideas and some are a little beyond REAPER's themeing ability. Most should be able to be done with some trickery and the use of overlays.

I would say try a less opaque image (more translucence). Maybe we should do a FR with Cockos on getting a vol/pan details background image and a track number background image???

Where did the pans go? Also, are you recording the fragrance company Chanel or are those Channels (just poking a joke...I'm always critiqued for my spelling).

I was recording Hugo boss but got a better offer from chanel . Just kidding (damn reliance on spell check).

Hears an FR I started for pan/vol backgrounds please support it add to it or change it if you like I don't have much luck with the whole FR thing.
http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.p...ight=pan%2Fvol

The pans were masked by the overlay.

Hear is a rough draft of the overlay and mcp backgrounds.....

https://stash.reaper.fm/manage_file/3..._overlays2.rar

Put folder in themes folder
Point dailyduty at it in prefs/appearance/themes/select folder .

With this you can get the mcp to work 90% of the time.
The Chanel on the left shows the background showing threw when the mixer is fully extended ( you cant make this work with both the smallest and largest mixer settings).

It is very possible to make this theme very usable but it would require alot of time and effort

All the transparent images (vol pan efx backgrounds need to be replaced with solid images) I had a play but I,m an engineer not a graphic designer and alot of the elements need attention. And more to the point its not my theme I just wanted to see what was possible using overlays and hopefully help Ortseam get this wonderful theme working .

The picture above shows the overlay but its for demonstration purpose only it has no gradient badly cut wholes etc but with this and the right skills it could look just like the original.

Hope this helps.

So sorry my bad . Damn copy/paste when logged on to stash...

This is the closest to working I got it.
Tracks can be adjusted from minimum to nearly full.(more rough cut and slash butchery I'm afraid)
https://stash.reaper.fm/v/3902/Daily_Duty_overlays2.rar

Hope this theme is still being worked as it truly is a great piece of work.

The limitation with using this overlay is the gap between efx_backgrounds will remain black , mixer tracks cant be fully extended, selected track needs the same background color as unselected track in the mcp .

Hope this has helped ortseam get a little closer.

Default Simply wonderful... and ain't finished yet!!

OK just download this theme and damn right, this one is from now on my default for when I will be using Reaper... it's simply the best them and should become the Default template them for up coming Reaper versions. Imagine it's not even done, can not wait to see it when the wave file shape will be like the original default theme and so on!!

Thanx for sharing and for those tweaking it to make it the best ever theme!!

Simply wonderful, keep up the good work Ortseam!!

I might use it if it worked a little better with the current theming abilities, it's often a distraction when things get all jumbled up...

I only tried using it for a few hours, but I soon grew to not like the rather muted pastel-look of it all (like the indicator buttons) and am now happily using the new unempty theme (which IMO isn't perfect either, but a much better "default" candidate)

anyways, that's just me of course, please keep working on this, because it's obviously got potential, and it's always nice to have more high-quality variety in themes to switch up from time to time depending on the type of project or mood us users are in.

Thank you all for your interest and your attempts to make my theme work better. Esp. I'm grateful to jedstar2000 for his inventive "reversed" approach to overlays. But I must bring you my apologies: I'm terribly out of time now and the work is temporarily frozen. Hope I'll restart it after month ot two...
Thank you for your patience!
