Default Selection text size?

Is there any way to make the text in the three selection boxes bigger? My old eyes are failing me

I found :
trans.sel.font: Selection information/edit font (first coordinate is font index, 1-8 user, 0=main, -1 = volpan)

I dont know what any of that means, and its not in the rtconfig file for my theme

Don't know what do you mean by 'three selection' but, rtconfig allows to assign particular element font to so called Walter font. After that this font can be tweaked with use of Theme Developer/Tweaker.

In case of mentioned trans.sel.font you can maintain in rtconfig line like:

set trans.sel.font.size [1]
Then in Theme Developer/Tweaker setup it to your needs. Don't forget to save such modified theme using mentioned Theme Developer/Tweaker tool.

Ok I added that to the rtconfig, maybe I put it in the wrong place, not seeing anything in the theme tweaker related to it

After adding this line, volume font controlled the setting, Walter font 1 changes had no effect

And that's why I keep harping on making theming easier. This is such a no brainer and yet to be so difficult is another testament to why easier theming needs to be a priority.

Afaik as long as you make the box dimensions
Large enough in your WALTER, you should be
Able to assign a WALTER font to it...say #8,
And change the font size as you see fit in
The tweaker.

Ah, I've tried to change certain fonts in the tweaker and (after spending 15 minutes to find the right line) gave up. I assumed if it was in the tweaker it would do the trick. Didn't know that the boxes needed to be edited in Walter.

Well yea, just to fit the larger text size that you choose in the tweaker. In the case of the theme shown above, it should be very simple, with no issues at all.
It just seems a little tricky because you have three different things influencing this/
These elements:
The tweaker WALTER font settings
The WALTER for the element itself in Rtconfig.txt
The automatic shaping/sizing factors that
REAPER enforces when fiddling with the
W and h dimensions.
