Welcome to Linux/Reaper!

I don't understand the question...

The "Add FX Window" do you mean the FX window? Double clicking there does not open the FX browser (what I would call the "Add FX Window"), clicking the add button at the bottom does.

- The FX window shows the FX that are currently in the track.

- If there are no FX in the track, the Add FX Window opens automatically.

- The "Add" button at the bottom opens the Add FX Window.

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the warm welcome

No does not open it. It does in Windows and when I use Reaper Linux I miss that function.

Yep, I have the same thing.
I am on MX21, and I also notice that Reaper windows works when double clicking and Reaper Linux does not. It is not a problem for me, I can use the ADD button, but it is strange.

It's also possible to use (by default) either the "insert" or "A" keys to open the FX browser window too (which is even quicker).

I wasn't aware that it was ever possible to open that window by double-clicking in the empty area to the left (and indeed that doesn't work here either) - I always use either the button or one of the above shortcuts.

Yes, me too. I always use the ADD button. But now I see this, I think it is quite useful when it would work.

It is also a bit strange why it doesn't work in Linux Reaper.
I guess probably nobody noticed it until now...

I've never used REAPER on anything other than Linux, I didn't even know that was a thing elsewhere.

Though also there are so many ways to add FX, I doubt I would have used that functionality anyway... (Heck, I almost never even open the FX chain window. I mostly use FX via the tcp/mcp FX lists...)

Might be a bug.

I did a quick test in version 6.83 and 7.11 and double-click in the empty area only works here in the far left area (so it's a much smaller area in comparison to Windows).
Or in other words: when doing the double-click in the same vertical lane below the checkbox of the first FX list entry.

Sure enough, double clicking on the far left works. I'm running Manjaro XFCE.

Maybe you're not clicking in the right place? Has to be right at the left edge of the fx list area of the fx chain window.

In any case, I don't think behaviour like this should be distro related. (Kubuntu 23.10 here, for what it's worth.) If this works differently from Windows, then it's presumably an issue in libSwell, right? Whether it's a bug, a simple oversight or some weird limitation of the platform, I don't know.

Ah yes, it does actually work here - the hit area seems to be anywhere in the left underneath (and the same width as) the column of checkboxes.
