Or, if your compressor doesn't use read-ahead techniques (which introduces additional latency), you can simply use the mighty wet knob:
In this case (ReaComp) it's even redundant since ReaComp has its own 'Wet' fader, but for plugins that don't you can just click and drag the marked wet knob (it turns into a knob when you drag it) to pass through the uncompressed signal in parallel.

^^ +1
and you can automate that control using an Automation Envelope or TCP parameter control
(but go and vote here: http://forum.cockos.com/project.php?issueid=1620 too)

then i made a track where i put reacomp, js loser saturation, reaeq, and js stillwell stereowidth. and i am recieving on this track from all the individual drum tracks.
i was wondering could i parallel compress the track thats recieving all the drum sends
i really want my drums to beat through the mix

Don't try to do too much Aaron - it takes time and a whole lot of listening to different settings before you can get compression right - or even half decent.
Try everything out. See if you can hear the difference between a 2.5 ratio and a 5.00 ratio. Listen to see if you can hear the difference between a soft knee and a hard knee. By the time your ears can tell the difference you won't need to ask - you will be able to hear.

Incidentally, ReaComp has a couple of good parallel compression presets you could try out. They're labelled "NY Compression", which is another name for the same thing.

you on 64 bit or 32 bit REAPER?
I seem to recall someone saying that 32 bit added the presets but in 64 bit you need to copy the presets over from the 32 bit location on your hard drive.

yes, there i've found a file "presets-vst-reacomp.ini", opened it with an text-editor and saw a lot of data with names like "Vintage Overheads", NY Drum Buss", etc...
Fine!
And how do i get them into ReaComp?

OK you have the presets
Now open each FX, i.e. Recomp then click the little '+' on the right side of the preset window, and you will see an option to 'import effect library .rpl' (Or something similar)
Browse to the folder you found and then click on library for the FX you have open.
The preset will then show everytime you open REAPER !

That's what i've done as you can see in the second screenshot. No "import effect library" just "Load Patch/Bank...".

Try the .fxp/ .fxb file import, from same menu....
EDIT: Nope it is the .rpl files: http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=76275 I had a problem with this when I reloaded my system and went from XP to Win7 a month ago. All preset present and corrct.
