Default "Media explorer: Preview media item source media" doesn't work on MIDI files

Title says it all, on audio files this action works, but not on .MID files.

What I did was select a track that has VSTi on it, then try previewing midi file in media explorer, works here.

If I choose the .MID file in media explorer and a track with VSTi, then I can preview it, BUT if I drag that midi clip onto the track, close the media explorer, then run the action "Media explorer: Preview media item source media" nothing happens, the Media Explorer doesn't even open...

Maybe you're expecting a bit too much from this software, you probably need to have explorer open to use that action. ? I really don't know as I don't really use MIDI.

Hopefully someone else can be of more help!

Well it's not crucial for me, I just wanted to point that out because the name of the action suggests that the item's source would be shown in Media Explorer regardless of it being an audio, midi, image or video item...
When it comes to expecting more from Reaper, I can only think of a bit more functional Media Explorer, being able to dock toolbars next to each other on the sides and on top of each other at the top and bottom sections, and a better sampler than RS5K, otherwise Reaper in my opinion is the best DAW out there right now or should we call it DAVW? (Digital Audio & Video Workstation)
