Default Mouse Modifiers in MIDI editor

I managed to get the default left-drag behaviour to be marquis select across reaper now, which is awesome.

But in the MIDI editor, while I can get the selection behavior I want with left-drag, I can't with right-drag. I'd like to be able to draw notes with a right-drag, but that's not supported.

I just want to switch the left and right, based on the fact that I use the editor mostly for editing, not much for creating.... but sometimes I'd like to be able to create also.

Is there a workaround, or should I put in a FR?

Worst case, I can use the insert note command. But at the moment, right-drag isn't being used for anything... so it would be nice.

Not really a viable workaround, but if you had a mouse that let you customize all the buttons like in the image below, you could make two profiles -- one for normal use and one for MIDI editor only -- then swap between them quickly using the switch profile button on the mouse itself. On the MIDI profile, swap the left click and right click functionality to the opposite buttons so that left button does right click and vice versa.

Okay, thanks... It's not such a big deal--I'm not going to buy a new mouse, just for that...

I will put in a FR though.

EDIT: I'll just put it under shift-drag. That's fine for my purposes.....

Yeah, it should be a native feature. Not sure why we can't just bind anything to any button...there might be some programming reasons behind the scenes.
