Sounds good. My suggestion is to raise the vocals and/or lower the guitars a little.

I know...but the loud guitars feel so good!
The vox could come up a bit though

Damn! The mix does sound good, but tune itself is pretty outstanding.

I agree on the vox and also the solo guitar in the middle is buried.
I really liked the guitars in the verse.

I think the guitar level is good, but I'd tone down the treble just a bit. They're just a little "crispy"? I'm guessing Strat or Tele on the bridge pickup? Eh, maybe not. If the treble were tamed a bit, the vox would stand out more.

yeah, VOX do need to come up.

Dang, a really catchy song. Energy! It almost reminds me of early Joe Jackson.

Yah know, I just listened to one of sammydix's new tunes along with yours. I'm jealous of all the Reaper forum talent.

It's a strat and all bridge pickups...I think. Can't quite remember..
It was something thought I may be able to resolve with some eq'ing but in the end, the vox probably do need to come up a bit. Hopefully will have some time to fiddle some more tomorrow.
Thanks for the feedback

Well this (I listened to quite a few tracks) is punk rock and I hear that American High School vibe also(which is a good thing imo),but you are Australian? Perhaps you left the US and made a new home?
Your soundcloud page is a bit grey and uniteresting looking (except for that Cassius Clay .img)but the important bit is wonderfully raw and at the same time very well performed/produced.
No bullshit, authentic, solid support from bass and drums, exciting electric guitar work, strong vocals/lyrics & delivery.
I listened to a ton of vinyl in the 70's 80's....loads of punk/new wave amongst other stuff and went to many small venues to get the live shows.
Had this come onto the scene back then, you would have been very popular.Sadly now is not then however...but stay zen...I wish you well, you deserve to break through somehow.

Absolutely.

___________

A very minor observation is that if gtr and voc compete a bit for level I run the free voxengo SPAN plugin on both to see where I can carve out narrow eq notches to give each a narrow band that isn't competing with the other.

Usually no need to remix beyond that tweak when it already sounds so good. Cheers Op, excellent track.

Nup, I'm an Aussie born and bred.
Really appreciate the comments...not sure about the 'American High School' vibe thing though. But yeah, did grow up on a steady diet of punk rock coming out of the US.... Descendants being the king IMO.

But then I spent alot of time listening to more 'rock' punk ie. Hot Snakes, RFTC, etc so there's also that.
Of course, the old scene has gone to the dogs....but by fuck it's still fun to play.
Glad you enjoyed...

It's pretty rad and not cliche punk rock at all. Nice mix but the vox could come forward a bit. I find it loses some momentum during the guitar solo at the end. Everything could be more epic there, but that's just my preference.

Pretty exceptional.

The guitars sound great, but then all's good.
