iVOLVE - jhrv Theme (WIP)
Ok, this is taking forever. I'm starting this thread so you can see the progress of this theme. There are still many things to do, I hope to finish it soon. I'm hating the colors in the arrangement view, so, those will not be the final colors.
This is what I have so far.

I think you need to frame the tcp meter. I know you can't do this with the meter .png, but you could do it on the tcp_bg.png. As it is right now, the meter looks stuck on as an afterthought because it's overlaid on top of the two "sections" of the tcp.
Also, since we can now use knobs, it seems like a good idea to use them for pan and width in order to save space. Looking at the mcp right now, is kind of scary lol......"woooah! yellow pan thing!!!". Just my opinion of course, and not to be taken too seriously

Ok, Photoshop guys, I need help filling the TCP.
And here there is room for two more buttons. What do you think I should put there?

How about when we resize the tcp and set it with the same height but smaller length, could it maybe look something like...
...Just an idea.
P.S. Excuse the crappy knobs.

this is nice. reminds me of brushed aluminum. If someone could knock out a theme based on stillwells/WTs "Rocket" i rekon it would be ace. The finish on that plug is tops!

So, we can only set this maximum size for the pan knob?
Really?

wow...nice vintage knobs...
but I still love faders for volume and knobs for pan...
what´s about a double pan and width knob in the same button??
(como esos potenciometros de los pedales que tienen un boton mas pequeño dentro de otro y ruedan por separado)

LOVE THE KNOBS.
I'm still not crazy about the mcp. The tcp looks great, maybe you could
make the mcp use the same color it's using right now but make if more classy
as the tcp? I don't know... maybe use a nicer texture?...
But the TCP is awesome.
The transport needs work too. How come the TCP looks great, but the
transport kinda "meh". Just saying. It's getting there.
EDIT: The pan and wide sliders look kinda VERY simple. The mute, solo buttons, etc, also look VERY simple.
The color/texure of the mcp tracks yes it's nice, but the whole thing looks kinda empty and simple (except
the color/texure).
I think the mcp overall doesn't fit with the tcp. Again, the TCP looks great. The color scheme overal is very nice.

What's wrong with it looking simple? You saying it needs to be more complicated? I get the impression the meters, pan controls and various buttons are meant to look like they're part of an old-school two-tone low-res LED display, so they're SUPPOSED to be simple! Change it, and you're loosing the concept it began with.
Also, I don't think there's anything wrong wrong with 'emptiness' - not all themes have to have as much crammed into as small a space as possible. Such themes can just end up looking too busy. It's good to have a theme that has a sense of space and gives room to breathe.
Same with the transport - though I think a bit more work on the clock etc is probably in order, I think those type of minimalist buttons with just the icons with no obvious button work quite well.
The colour of the mixer panels are fine IMO - or at least they certainly don't need to be more like the TCPs! If you change them to the same colour as the TCPs, you end up with yet another charcoal/slate grey theme! (and there's plenty of those already!) It's good to have a mixer that provides some contrast to the rest of the workspace I think.
Overall, I think the theme has fairly sophisticated look, and a lot of that is helped by the feeling of space and the simple, minimalist approach. Start filling out that space with bigger buttons and unnecessary details, and it could start to look gaudy.

NOW THAT IS A LOVELY GUI!!!
I just think the MPC faders need the line where indicates
Volume 0 (default position I mean).
This narrow layout looks awesome!!!

Smooth work. Please keep going.
The pan knobs look nice, but I see you're using shiny knobs that can actually obscure the pan indication. Were knobs with a plain inside area so ugly ?
Any plans for an automation indicator ? Bottom perhaps ?
Possible method: A row of three LEDs.
Left to right, All Off-Read/Trim, left led green is Read, middle led red is latch, right led yellow is touch, all three red strong red is write(steam roller mode). The overlays of the Imperial theme have good led lights. Maybe something similar in style. Personally I'd place the led row above the fader. The idea stems from the way consoles sometimes do this.
Keep up the great work. It's great so far.

airon makes a good point about the shine, or rather the dark part of the knob hiding the line that rotates....
I have run into this making other knobs for vst's in knobman and PS... but you 'can' tone down the metal effect with an overlay of either black at about 18-45% transparency.. or with a bit of a gradient....
Also another nit-pick might be the recess that the knobs sit into... IMO the shading on that is not quite right...
I do know what a PITA this can be, but in the end it's worth it.
Overall it's looking darn nice and it sure is growing!

I agree jhrv something about those buttons seem a little weird but im not sure what it is
But honestly other than that once this thing is released it's definatly my new default.
Just wondering, when we resize the tcp and make it small, will this be allowed?
Im talking about the mute, solo record and arm buttons, will they appear
under the title bar when we make the tcp smaller?

or you could make the indicator bump out a little like you'd see on an api or chickenhead knob. I wouldn't go for a chickenhead look exactly but maybe just a little protruding triangle.
Like so:
