Yup, been resisting adding these, but now that the architecture is working reasonably well, i think we can afford a few config checkboxes in CSI.ini

ScrollLink

ZoneLink

FXMapDefaultOn

FXMenuDefaultOn

etc.

Am I right in that all zones are preloaded at boot or reaper/CSI?

That's why I can't open an FX, delete it, rejig the layout of the FXZone in Config, then reopen FXzone by adding the FX again. Because it's already a done deal.
Correct.

That's exactly how it works

Probably a bug

Seriously, it's pretty fresh code, expect potholes, but definitely chime in with ideas !

Here's a terrible, hacky, but mostly functioning .zon reader.

I didn't touch:
PopulateFXParams
Save
Any of the Reset Subs

Pretty everything else has been messed with though.

It's to the point where it loads everything to the proper place.

The only major thing for you to finish is the dropdown selection for the cells -- right now it just copies the index -- you will see -- I think you must already have lookup logic to do this -- perhaps the transfer from loaded params to cell dropdown.

Anyway, it's a reasonable start, hopefully

ANOTHER QUESTION.

This time it's Fxzone, if I have a big zone that I want to have a few pages/layers.

Can I have it all in one file.

BIGFX.zon

ZONE "BIG"
..........

Somebutton GoZone "BIGEQ"

EndZone

Zone "BIGEQ"
..........
Somebutton GoZone "BIG"
EndZone

Sort of thing all in the one file?

Try adding this to your C4 Home Zone

Code:

Sure, the algo starts at the Folder you set in CSI config and loads all Zones in all .zon files recursively through any subfolders.

I like the idea it's all in one file, but realise re-editing in configurator that it's going to be problematic, if not impossible.

Do you see any other dis/advanages?

Also if I do it as separate files how does the naming go? Odviouly the alias changes within the file but what about the file name?

When you do complicated Zone setups, it's better for your sanity to have them in separate files.

The disadvantage of separate files is you don't get the advantage of the Configurator removing assigned parameters from the list across more than one file.

You might want to wait until I've finished the multi-zone feature before making hundreds of (potentially) incompatible files

@MixMonkey, whenever you get a chance to try the spreadsheet I posted, let me know if there are any problems, I only tested it for row A

Trying to figure out what's different, working fine here.

Push works fine and if you select another Track the correct FXMenu shows up and Push works fine there as well.

I've tried everything you've suggested, I've copied the original C4_A (now C4_B) and altered it as suggested but still no joy.

It's obviously something I've inadvertently done somewhere.

I'm going vanilla and starting over

So what do i need to add into MCU and What into C4.

Don't think you need anything in the MCU file.

Could you please post the contents of an FX Zone file you expect to be mapped ?

Yup, thought it might be an FX navigator issue.

The problem is in the FX .zon files, not the C4 .zon file.

You have:

Code:
FocusedFXTrackNavigator
You need:

Code:
SelectedTrackNavigator
FXMenu works on Selected Tracks.

OK GETTING SOME WHERE HERE

PUSH is now working and splaying FX

But selecting a diferent track the FXMenu blanks and need re-toggled off and back on

Also I can no longer switch FX by using TrackL and TrackR

Ah, finally got this to misbehave, I clearly have a different workflow than you

I always Select a Track first, then ToggleFXMenu.

If you do that everything works, you can Select another Track and the FXMenu will be displayed etc.

However, if you ToggleFXMenu first, then select a Track, things go awry.

Thanks for testing, bug noted, will fix, but for now, just select Track before engaging ToggleFXMenu

ANOTHER QUESTION but different subject

Marker, I changed Marker from Reaper######
to Marker GoZone Marker

Then added

Zone Marker
Marker GoZone Home
Rewind Reaper 40172
FastForward Reaper 40173
ZoneEnd

It works BUT,

When I press Marker REW and FF LEDs light (that's ok as it gives you a good indication)
But Marker doesn't and when you hit Marker again, it returns to normal function, but the LEDs on REW and FF stay lit.

Anyway to get it that Marker stays lit when in "MarkerMode" and the REW FF turn off again when in Home?

Yeah, GoZone has no feedback as it has no state, you can tell when you enter a Zone, but not when you leave.

I am a bit surprised the REW and FF LEDs light, might be something to do with the state of Reaper 40172, and 40173. Just checked, neither support state, not sure what's going on.

I've a test track
PianoVSTi (# on D1-4)
ReaEQ (NoAction on D1-4)
REComp (NoAction on D1-4)

I can now select any one from the FXMenu (D1-3)
If I select REaComp or ReaEQ i no longer see the FXMenu (Correct that's fine)
If I select Piano I can still see FXMenu (again correct due to #)

But i can't select a different FX from FXMenu without re-toggling

Also, strange happenings with PAN (ToggleMapFX)

All i see is ReaComp (or whatever i put last) and no way to select any different)

Are you saying the FX are mapped to the same Row the FXMenu is on ?

Do you have
Code:
OnTrackSelection MapSelectedTrackFXToWidgets
in your C4 Home Zone ?

The FXMenu shows in D1-8 (in this case D1-3)

In ReaEQ and ReaComp they both have NoAction in row D (so as soon as i select either one, the FX Menu is covered)

Piano is "/" in row D (using # in configerator)

So when i pick Piano from the FXMenu I can still see the FXMenu but it nolonger works to activate a different FX.

Yes.

UPDATE: It's something to do withthe C4, Ican flick thru the FXMenu from the MCU, but not from the C4

But it doesn't stick between tracks

If I understand # correctly it does not place a NoAction, so whatever the Push on the Piano did before, it still does.

That could entirely mess up the menu stuff, depending on what it's mapped to.

Ahh, I only have an MCU (well Avid Artist series emulating MCU), and I get the same working behaviour here, will dig a bit deeper and see if anything comes to mind, thanks again for testing.

I found the culprit for one part anyway.

the Toggle+RotaryPush "/" out IN THE fxZone files

got them sorted now can select each FX from FXMenu in Row D of C4

But FXMenu STILLS blanks when I select a new track.

UPDATE: If i add a new track and then load an FX, while ToggleFXMenu is engaged, it shows up straight away.
But blanks as soon as I select a different track.

This is C4.zon i'm currently using to test
Quote:
Zone Home

OnTrackSelection MapSelectedTrackSendsToWidgets
OnTrackSelection MapSelectedTrackFXToWidgets
Track ToggleMapFXMenu
IncludedZones
Buttons
IncludedZonesEnd
ZoneEnd

Zone Buttons
BankLeft TrackBank -24
BankRight TrackBank 24
ChannelLeft TrackBank -1
ChannelRight TrackBank 1
ZoneEnd

Zone Send|1-8
SelectedTrackNavigator
DisplayUpperD| TrackSendNameDisplay
DisplayLowerD| TrackSendVolumeDisplay
RotaryPushD| TrackSendMute
RotaryD| TrackSendVolume
ZoneEnd

Zone FXMenu|1-8
SelectedTrackNavigator
DisplayUpperD| FXNameDisplay |
RotaryPushD| GoFXSlot |
Shift+RotaryPushD| GoFXSlotMute |
ZoneEnd

Bet you don't have any Sends on those Tracks
Code:
OnTrackSelection MapSelectedTrackSendsToWidgets
will cause the Sends to map to D1-D8.

This will clobber your FXMenu.

Looks like you have a ToggleMapSends somewhere (and it looks like you are using ZoneLink).

ToggleMapSends to the OFF position and let me know what happens.

Or, if you want a brute force way to check if this makes a difference. just comment out the Sends mapping like this:
Code:
//OnTrackSelection MapSelectedTrackSendsToWidgets
Let me know what you find.

Toggle sends was off, But when I commented out as suggested, FXMenu sticks.

But Sends is a bit buggered now lol.
If I've 3 sends on 1, 2on 2 and 1 on 3 (sound like i should ask a maths question now lol)
When I select track then toggle sends, 1 all 3 show
select track 2, 2 show plus a 3rd showing -150.00 in the bottom display
select track 3, 1 shows, plus a 2nd and 3rd showing -150.00,

I'm pretty sure did (I did 3 plugin one after the other) but checked it again there and all seems ok.

Making headway, despite me getting in the way, time for some Zzzzzzzzzzz

Aha, that tells me what I need to know.

Just realized the nasty interaction that's causing this, thanks again for testing !

Of course they are, you're not mapping them anymore

Well that would explain it. Lol.

I actual realised that, as I locked the door to the studio, must have been when the fresh air hit me,
I guess sleep is calling me more than I knew.
