Is it possible with the new skinning features to get similar vumeters than in ABleton Live (i mean plain & slim vumeters) ?

Why is there so much aliasing on some of the lines? Can that be cleaned up?

Nice. Keep going, I definitly will use a simple, clean theme like this.

And don't forget the automation mode buttons .

hi Limefavour

I have given it a try before, myself but I couldn't really approach it (that's simply not possible in Reaper) so gave up. The strong points of the Live interface are the cool looks but certainly also the stern and far elaborated color schemes. What's not important is brownish grey and the things that really matter are colorful.
In your design I like the rounded corners and the green of the buttons, but the background color scheme is still too light.

What most concerns me are the sliders. When you look at the Live interface you see that they are reduced to a bare minimum: a line and a triangular indicator. Yours are more star trek like.

I don't own Live, This theme is based on a snapshot from Live6 (default theme, I think).
I'm also no fan of the square like looks that's why i made somethings "rounded". I like the sliders but I can also make some substitutes.

That's where using a vector graphics programme like Xara would help

Vector is indeed better for such a task. You can try Inkscape which is free & alright.
But you can make nice knobs also with some bitmap applications, like Paint.net or the Gimp, by drawing rectangles with rounded angles & adding some Webdings font for the transport icons ("play, pause, etc")

is it possible to make round knobs instead of the volume and pan faders?
This would also use less space.

i like the colours so far (except the vu meters of course)

I think there should be some space between volume and pan background on the tcp. you can achieve this by making the fader thumb slightly bigger (add transparent pixels left and right of it)

anti-aliasing would be nice, but i actually like the old-school look of it, how it complements the arrange view - which is I think un-avoidably old-school looking in any theme. (regarding fancy edges: I think they look fancier off!)

and

all your themes are belong to us

That's very, very nice - clean and clear. Exactly how the app should look. Flat is good

One suggestion, is there any chance could you make the distinction between the I/O, FX and envelope icons much clearer? Don't know if this would be by the use of colour, or clearer text or something else. But IMHO most theme authors are guilty of not distinguishing very well between these icons -- the result is a very pretty theme, but you have to stare a little too hard to ensure you're clicking on the right icon; more difficult than it should be. Don't know if anyone else is with me on this?

Anyway, keep up the great work!

I've made some small improvements.
Any suggestions on how to get the vu look good when tracks are selected? (see channel #5)

Wow

That's very nice - thanks for taking on board my suggestion about icon coloring, makes a big difference. Great job on the anti-aliasing too.

Can't wait to try this.

yes, that would be nice but impossible till now in reaper. i also like to see some improvements on the advanced theme vu meter
integration. for example, i don't like the numbers on the vu. you can't change them in any way and they always get this shadow. this is always a bit stressing on the eye.

btw, nice theme

The vlume faders are great. Could i suggest trying to reduce the Pan faders ? They are huge.
And maybe also trying Arial in Bold mode, instead of Arial Black ?

WOW I REALLY like this one!

Very functional and useable right out of the box - The alternative triangle faders look the bomb

Thanks heaps for your efforts

Cheers
Jed

EDIT : Anyone who has used and enjoyed Live 6 will love this! A LOT of care and attention to detail has gone into it

Again, thanks for your feedback.

I've found a very small "bug", I had forgot to make an icon for the io button in the media explorer window.
Not a very big deal but the icon is now available in the first post.
