Thanks. But it does something weird now when dragging to normal tracks:
Also, if it is intended behavior that releasing the mouse on the bottom half of a fixed lane track adds the item to a second lane, then it should at least already show the two lanes (and their numbers) as soon as setting the track to fixed lanes mode and display the item preview accordingly.
Otherwise it is confusing:
Once the track has 2 or more visible lanes it all seems to work nicely.

^^Agreed, it does the same on win on both gifs.
Regarding the second gif behavior, i would prefer if the track has one lane to drop the audio on that lane without creating a second one, even when the mouse is on the bottom half.

Yeah, adding new lane would make sense only when you hover over that add-lane bar.

^^ yes, now that you mentioned it, i tried to drop an item on lane add area and because of the bottom half behavior it created 3 lanes which is not very nice.

Liking a lot the way items now remember which lane of the original fixed-lane track they came from, and go to. Maybe the item's track lane number could be displayed/adjusted in the 'Item Properties' dialog or somewhere.
Or an item 'lane marker' could display the lane number dynamically... soz, getting FR'y.

Auto-create new track when using media explorer drag and drop
As you are already working on media explorer drag and drop I thought I'd ask once more - please consider adding a shortcut/hotkey/UI feature to allow us to auto-create a new track under the mouse cursor while dragging media from the media explorer -
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=259194
This would be a super helpful for those of us who work regularly with samples from the media explorer, which is many of us I'm sure.
Thank you!

it's kind of lost in API requests forum so i post it here:
req: Set P_EXT for TakeFX, TrackFX
so that we can Set auxiliary data and get this benefit like we already can for other Elements: like track, sends , media items, etc
Something like:
getSetTrackFX_Info_Value(tr, index, "P_EXT", ..)
getSetTakeFX_Info_Value(tr, index, "P_EXT", ..)
edit: please have a look in the API requests forum, .. so many little things that probably don't take so much time and make a big benefit for scripters and those who use their scripts.

My apologies for slightly off topic, but I can't find where the branch "* Includes feature branch: recording files wildcard support" came about so I can't find explanation or discussion about this feature
Can anyone point me to the proper thread?

Probably not actually worth a "* Feature branch" line but anyway:
v6.33+dev0726 - July 26 2021

I have tried to mess around ReaScript: add GetSetMediaTrackInfo("P_RAZOREDITS_EXT"). Thanks devs, works fine!
Here is some of this, who interested: https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...&postcount=429

Answering my own question:
Code:
P_RAZOREDITS_EXT : const char * : list of razor edit areas, as comma-separated sets of space-separated tuples of start time, end time, optional envelope GUID string, optional fixed/fipm top y-position, optional fixed/fipm bottom y-position.
So, this additionallyreturns the fixed/fipm coordinates.

Regarding keyboard bugs and fixes, could it be prevented that in the "Custom action name:" field Shift-8 jumps to the action list? This drives me crazy as (at least on German keyboard) Shift-8 = "(" and I would like to name many actions with brackets and always have to copy-paste a bracket from somewhere else as I can't type it.

+1. there are a number of text fields in REAPER which pass text entry to the key processor, at least on macOS (also on a German keyboard FWIW).

Graphics bug in +dev1205a
Phantom item buttons appear when zooming in on track with many items.
I also reported this in the Bugs thread. Should I only report it here when it is a bug in an unreleased version?

Yes. Actually these dev threads are here precisely to test new dev versions, give feedback and report problems that arise only in the dev version. This should help to minimize the occurrence of bugs in official releases. If a bug however is present in an official release (and can't be traced back to a specific Reaper version) then the bug reports forum is the right place.

Excellent, that will be very useful to script devs.
Reaper devs: Why is this called "P_..._EXT"? Afaik all the other P_EXT keys are used for arbitrary data, not object parameters.

In general (not just in REAPER) _ext often means an extended version of an existing API. In REAPER, _ext also sometimes means "for extensions."

I assume the letter prefix has to do with internal variable blocks?

This problem gets worse and worse as the number of items on the track increases. Clearly, it is a race condition of some kind associated with the writing the graphics display memory.
This did not occur in prior release versions.
All the the phantom buttons appear, they are not clickable, and no context menu shows up for them. Clearly, they are misplaced images of buttons for other items off screen that never got over-written or erased from the graphics memory during the Zoom process.

This is your third presumptuous, aggressively communicated post about this bug in this thread alone, a bug which you have already reported multiple times elsewhere on the forum. Are you expecting a notarized receipt?
Read up on non-violent communication, please. Leave some fresh air for the rest of us.

Not ONE aggressive word. As you can read in my previous post, I asked first if this was the correct place to be posting this. Perhaps read first, before you comment. No further responses to this type of off-topic ad-hominem nonsense.
