Default Can ReaScripts find zero crossing and transient positions in source?

Is there a way for scripts to find the positions of nearby zero crossings and transients in the source, so that stretch markers can be placed at those exact positions?

Similar to the actions "Move edit cursor to previous zero crossing" or "Move cursor to previous transient in items", but using source positions of audio that might not be visible onscreen.

I guess by implementing the audio analysis from scratch or by doing some hack that attempts to use the existing actions.
