open an empty FX chain
I do know that I can completely disable auto-showing the FX browser when opening an empty FX chain, but silly me doesn't find out how to leave the FX browser window to get to the empty FX chain if I don't want to populate it with a selected FX (e.g. to paste an FX chain into the track FX chain).

Not quite sure what you mean. For me, the FX browser floats over the FX chain window. I can either click a little red [X] in the top-right corner of the FX browser to close it, or I can just click in the FX chain window to bring the empty FX chain to the front.
Maybe that's not what you're asking?
FYI, my FX chain is in a docker. I don't know if that makes a difference.

Same functionality as Lunker, for me.. except I don't have the FX chain or the FX browser in a docker. The FX Browser and FX chain windows are separate windows.. so if you close the FX Browser on my Reaper instance, you'll see the FX chain.
I can't imagine why there would be an option somewhere to never show the FX chain window, but maybe you have it docked somewhere, or potentially off screen? But if that were the case I'd assume you'd never see it, whether there's stuff in the chain or not.
Oh perhaps I've figured it out. You can either view the FX Browser by going through the FX chain first (hit the FX button on your track in TCP, or CTRL-F, I think) or you can go straight to the FX Browser, no FX chain window, by clicking View->FX Browser (or Shift-F by default, I think).
You must be doing the latter.

If I close the FX browser window without instantiate (e.g. double clicking) any plugin, the FX chain window of the track closes, too. o I NEED do instantiate a plugin (and then delete it). Seems weird.

Exactly !
(Seems this option has been introduce some time ago and the default (checked) is different from the behavior before introducing it.)
Thanks,

Hmmm ... as far as I can tell, I get the same behavior whether that box is checked or not.

With that option on (the default), you can click the FX button twice and it will still open the chain.

Hidden gem
Nonetheless IMHO the default better would be off.
And the text us cryptic to me.
And it does not seem to be in the User Guide.

The User Guide is written by nicholas. So if you want him to include this, you can write a message to him.
