Default Reaper themes cause audio glitches ?

I just installed a few thems to try out, hostel, universe alternate and a couple others, when I use them I get audio stutters and drop outs that I don't get with the standard reaper 4 theme... any ideas ?

I have a random crackles, seamlessly with other devices. It's really strange. Rado 4 use only. ASIO goes well.

He means that you may have bad buffer settings at Options -> Preferences -> Audio -> Device

8x1024 samples in DirectSound mode, playing a single track here.

With 512 and 2048 the crackling occur. No problem with the default theme, this issue is the anomalous.

So when a theme causes audio glitches at a buffer setting that works without fault with the default theme ... it's the buffer setting that's at fault ?

Doesn't sound very convincing, sounds more like I have to botch my buffer settings to get themes to work :/ I thought perhaps I had put them into the folder incorrectly or something.

I'm much newer here.

I've noticed that few, if any, posters have their gear list in their sigs or profiles. (Me included.) This info can help to eliminate guess work and save all kinds of extra effort.

So, without knowing your system, and, since you're NEW here, (possibly old somewhere else), I like the suggestion about extra graphic demands being placed on your system by different themes.

I hope this issue is resolved soon and am curious about the cause.

Maybe think about updating your video drivers also.

Oh yes, sure. I have no problems with ASIO (M-Audio) and WaveOut ... for now. I cross my fingers ;-)

¿Video drivers? OMG! again :-)

I think I read from somewhere that graphic cards can cause glitches
if 3d settings etc are full or something.

I have disabled any of my 3D function graph.

I am a video editor (Sony Vegas, Edius) and never heard any reference to this, but I'll have to investigate this. Thanks dear northern colleague. Greetings from the south :-)

There were some issues that were corrected by reducing 'hardware accelleration' on older windows versions.

Ok I see the point being made about more complex themes stressing the GPU and in turn causing audio glitches, I guess I am just surprised as it seems like something more likely to happen with game graphics etc. A DAW skin seems a bit tame to cause this but clearly folks have experienced it so I will try updating drivers and fiddling with settings.

I just assumed it was more likely to be my error, most things like this are usually because I screwed something up On that note I was wondering how one properly installs a theme with a folder in addition to the theme file ? I put the folder in the same place... is this wrong ?
