Default WT Imperial - Tracking Deck bug

Can anybody confirm these bugs ( input FX LED, insert FX LEDs ) ?

I'm a Walter noob. How to fix this?

Thanks.

Does you monitor specs meet the Imperial minimum requirements? Vertical resolution of 1080 is the minimum.

This happens on a 1920 x 1200 monitor.

Can somebody reproduce this glitch ?

oh yeah... I see ... the glow for the LED is not where it should be eh?

hard to say without digging into it... if that is a problem with the png for the glow or a walter coding problem...

I don't use that layout much so have not noticed it before... but good catch.

PS ok took a bit of a look... but it's really still very hard for me to tell which png and\or which line of code is the problem...
WT uses some advance ol [overlay] pngs to make that glow go on and off... fyi, I see a similar bug with that same input fx glow on another of the mcp layouts...

My best suggestion would be to point it out to WT directly, though he may not care to do anything about it at this time.
Still he might appreciate it.

I could be wrong but I get the feeling its made to display that way since it appears the actual png resources are cutoff like that. It doesn't appear to be a sizing walter problem. Think of them as LEDs pointing down which if you look closely the illumniation itself is doing just that where as other LEDs illumitate 360. Could be wrong but as I said, looking at the pngs included in the theme there are some the look exactly like that.

karbo.... ummm I don't think that is the case with the one the OP pointed out...
when the led is on, the glow is way off to the left side... where it clearly should be like the other led's which do point down... so the glow is below them...

If we could know which png it is for just this one layout and just this one led, it might be an easy fix...

Just open the theme folder and search for *mcp*.png and you'll see the ones I'm speaking of. Its only 1/2 an image not a fully square or round LED. Not sure why that would exist otherwise since it appears to be the exact ones we are speaking of (maybe thinking of the wrong one?). I didn't look that hard but I'd think such a bug would have been noticed long before now due to the number of beta testers and high attention to detail during that phase. Could be wrong but the glow I'm looking at never goes to the side, always down.

For FX input led:
The led itself seems to live right on the mcp background (mcp_bg.png), the images for the input FX button (mcp_fx_in_empty/mcp_fx_in_norm) only have the button itself. The glow for the led is done with mcp_fx_in_norm_ol.png.

The led has a different horizontal position in "tracking deck", (in relation to the button) than it has in the default layout. So what's missing is a corrected mcp_fx_in_norm_ol.png in the folder "tracking".
To make Reaper show the tweaked *.ol.png its parent image (mcp_fx_in_norm.png) needs to be in that folder as well. You can just copy it from the root image directory. (even if it's the exact same image... if Reaper doesn't find the parent image in a layout folder, then it won't use the overlay image from the layout folder)

I guess the situation is pretty similar with the insert FX led, just that the position change of the led in relation to the button is vertical in that case.

EDIT: Karbo, I think you are looking at the wrong leds, the problems are with these:

Just saw, insert FX bypass led glow has this issue as well.

Sorry gents, and thanks for the bug spot. The fx_in and fx buttons are just copies of the ones in the sidecar layout, I've no idea how they didn't end up included.

I've got an update with a new 'none more black' layout that I've been meaning to upload, so I'll get the fix in.

Thanks for the fix . I'm in love with the tracking deck.

I still have one small issue on your original theme ...

When an fx is inserted and at the same time the whole fx-chain on this channel is bypassed the green and the red LEDs are somehow in the wrong position. It's the case on channel 2 and 3.

Pretty sure WT will be as quick on it as he's been with the other LEDs, but if you can't wait for his fix of the "Tracking Deck" LEDs when an FX chain is bypassed:

Copy these 4 images from the "sidecar" folder into the "tracking" folder

track_fxoff_v.png
track_fxoff_v_ol.png
mcp_fx_dis.png
mcp_fx_dis_ol.png

hmmm gofer... did what you said with copy the pngs but did not seem to do it here:
It is the Input FX LED glow that is not correct
any other thoughts???

OH wait... looking ...think we need two more files:
mcp_fx_in_norm.png
mcp_fx_in_norm_ol.png

gonna test and brb

OK that fixes part of it... BUT... the glow on ISERT for tracking deck is not right... It IS right when the disabled is set to ON... otherwise the green glow is too low...

Now here the side car layout in the mcp is really a mess
I do have 27" monitors at 1920 by 1200

PSS... just thinking ... too bad there is no disabled for Iput FX... ya know

Sorry for the trouble, Hopi

My comment was assuming you already have WT's newest version from 12-01-2012 where he's got input and insert FX LEDs fixed - only the bypass state still missing. I should have mentioned that in my post.

Copying the images does no harm to the sidecar layout, so I don't know what happened there for you.

I know this is not really a bug but it becomes a problem with some colors:

MCP label background is colored when the track is colored.
TCP is not. (when box is unchecked in preferences)
In Reaper's default theme the name stays uncolored on both the TCP and MCP wich is better IMO for clarity when looking for a specific track.

I made a request for this in the newbie forum but I then learned it was a theme thing.
Witti fixed this for apollo4.(ThankU !!)

Is it possible to do the same for Imperial?
