Default ..wav file recovery

Running a Custom Action that deleted discarded .wav files, deleted the files from another project. I tried a couple of file retrieval programs, but they don't see the deleted files. I had the box checked for deleted files sent to the Recycle bin, where I could look them over. But my Recycle Bin was empty. What files the retrieval programs did find were all corrupt. Any ideas?

Deleted file retrieval relies on you addressing the problem immediately. Otherwise, the normal disk will write to those locations without discretion and ruin any chance you had to recover them.

However, no actions I'm aware of can delete files from disk, except the one that can be used only while stopping a recording (stop and delete all recorded media). My guess is they are still in the default location where Reaper puts recordings, or in your project folder. Check your preferences and Project Settings to find out exactly where that is.
