Default Rendering track naming issues (FIXED)

Howdy all, when I am working with my partner with music I will save the latest version with this format as a mp3 2020-8-11 (depending on the date). If there is another version that would be saved it would be saved as, 2022-8-11a and so on. It has worked this way for the past three months but now Reaper is naming the files differently. on render the "Silently increment filenames to avoid overwriting" is on, but it always has been. I hope this is just a silly noob setting. Please see attached screenshot.

Thanks in advance for any help.
Howie

I used to be able to just name each rendered mp3 whatever I wanted to, but now Reaper is naming them using the default process.

Sorry, I'm not following! You have entered "C:\Users\howie\OneDrive\MP3" as the output directory, and you have entered "2022-8-11 a" as the file name, and the resulting file is named "C:\Users\howie\OneDrive\MP3\2022-8-11 a.mp3". What is the issue?

.. are you maybe trying to enter the filename in the "render to" field? That field is read-only and shows you the result of whatever directory and filename you have entered (after resolving any wildcards). That behavior hasn't changed, fwiw.

Default rendered song to CD quality

Hi all-- a couple of questions

I went to upload a song and the site said it was not CD quality and they needed the specs they require are :

High quality files in either WAV or FLAC
Stereo
44.1 kHz sample rate
16bit

I rendered the song in reaper not paying attention to these stats per say just to the final mix quality to my ears.

So in future how do I set the render to meet these requirements.

Also can you just then re-render the finished master to up grade it so to speak to the higher sample rate..or will it loose quality that way. Thanks

I used to just put this in the wild cat box 2022-8-11 and that would be come the name of the mp3 I was rendering.

Now no matter what I put in the wild cat field it will name it something like
2022-013. I just want it to name the file the name that I put in the wild card box. Hope that helps.
