Default Video slow down

Hello,
is it possible to slow down a video so that new frames are created by interpolation and avoid that ugly stutter effect?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know if the result is good enough for you but setting the video item play rate triggers interpolation.

Hi, thanks for the answer.
Is there any option for that? When I do that on my system (say change the item playrate to 0,5) the resulting video is definetly not creating new interpoated frames.

Do you know where to look?

Thanks

I don't know if this will help, I use a different program for video, but I found that taking the section of video I wanted to slo mo and producing it at higher frame rate, in my case 120 fps, then load that file into the editor apply the slow motion effect to that, and then produce the clip at the normal lower frame rate, typically around 30 fps in my case gives me smooth slo motion at up to 40% of the original speed. Anything slower than that things start to get choppy.

Again, that just may be something in the way my video editor works, not sure if it applies to Reaper.

Unfortunately that's what I meant by "good enough" or not. So your only option is what toleolu suggested! :-(
