I just look at the content of the page and have few questions...

1. it's dated Dec 21 2022... they say ffmpeg 5 is available but not works with Reaper... we are in Feb 2023, may be it does work? already?

2. Update from Jul 2022 shows:

The Windows version of REAPER since 6.57 now include support for the Windows Media Foundation (WMF) for video encoding/decoding, which is built into Windows 10 and 11. WMF allows for H.264 rendering and depending on your use, you may not need to install FFMPEG anymore.

My Reaper is 6.75... may be WMF is better than ffmpeg?

How to check the current ver of ffmpeg in Reaper?
What is really latest supported if it is better than WMF for my needs. You know them now ?

Thx.

I guess I have the latest ffmpeg because H.264 is there and I use it for rendering for a long time now.

WMF renders really fast and makes a compact file but if you have fast scene transitions the quality at those moments is terribly ugly. I still prefer by far FFMPEG 4.x (never tested 5) with H.264 encoding

Is WMF support with H.264 means MPEG4 format?

We are going off topic for this thread. It would be better to create a new thread for this topic.
