Default How to view MIDI info and Letters

Hi guys...

Is there a way to view information from a MIDI file in Reaper?

My keyboardist sent me a MIDI file, that when opened in Reaper displays the tracks as [chan 1] .. [chan 2] and so on ..

But if I open this file in a MIDI editor (I used GNMIDI) it displays the name of channels such as Steel GTR, Drums and so on ....

It also displays some copyright information entered by my keyboard player and the lyrics of songs synced with BPM

There's a way to see this information in Reaper?

In the MIDI Editor, change to View Mode: Event List

Or, in the Piano ROll view, create / select a controller lane and select Text Events from the drop-down menu.

If that does bot work, ZIP up the MIDI file and post it here as an attachment so we can have a look.

I could see the name of the instrument the way you said, it needs to open track by track .. but nothing to disrupt ..

There any option at the time that I import MIDI already uses the name of the instrument on the track?

But the other informations... I not find...

See in GNMIDI:

The Event List View is best:

As far as I can see, there are no MIDI events for the track names. But maybe you can work them out from the PC (Program Change) events for each of the seven channels (4 = Electric Piano, 25 = Acoustic Guitar, etc. Reaper does not do this mappnig automatically.

Also, in Preferences / Media / MIDI, set "Import multichannel MIDI files" to "Always prompt ..."
