Default My Editing Theme

Thought I'd finally post this little thing. Perhaps it's of some use to more people. Use all the images I've created for this theme as you please.

https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/265/Air...noEditArea.zip

Based on the original Reaper 2.0 Default theme, this theme attempts to bring the editing and mixing experience a little closer to Protools.

New automation buttons for instant recognition, some mouseover text for the icon box on the top left of the main window, new insert, send and MCP/TCP background images, as well as distinct colour choices for the editing/arrangement area make this a little easier for me to use.

Default Clever!

Airon - I love the idea with the automation buttons!! How do you get them to change when you select the envelope to automate?

I am NOT proficient at theming, except for maybe switching out faders and certain icons - this is really cool!!

Take a look at the folder that contains the graphics. You'll find the button graphics there.

I would LOVE to have this type of editing area in my Default theme (Vixie Plain V2)

Im guessing that this is just a matter of cutting code out of the V.Plain theme and pasting in the code from Airons...

Anyone know how to do this?

I have been poking around trying to help myself understand what is what with the "Colortheme element finder" but im not really getting anywhere.

Thanks for any help!

The Reaper theme file is a text file.

Just find the right section and replace them with the right stuff.

The alternative is to recreate the colours, which is fairly simple once you take a closer look at them in the Colour theme section of the prefs. You can switch back and forth between themes there with the Load button, so it'll take only a few minutes to recreate what you want.

This dramatically improves the default theme IMO. Much better distinguishability in the arrange area and the colored media events also stay pretty well balanced.

I think the bright green text on the selected track does not work though. What were you thinking there?

The mean green... I was looking for a colour that always works, no matter what colour the track is. It's not pretty at all :P . I like to colour my tracks, not just the label, and this sort of worked ok. YMMV. Any better ideas ?

May I also point at White Tie again, for putting out the white button sets on the MCP/TCP. My main contributions are the TCP/MCP backgrounds, the insert/send gfx in the MCP, the automation mode buttons(Trim/Read is not an automation mode like Read,Write&Touch are), some icon mouse-over modifications and the font choice, though I'm not 100% sure I changed all that much there.
