Default Any way to convert fxb banks to Reaper presets?

As it seems there are no limits to the presets per plugin in Reaper, it would be nicer to have them all there instead of loading fxb's etc. The mousewheel browsing is also so nice.

Is there a converter or plugin that does this?

Not that I know of.

I did it the hard way for a plugin for which Reaper will not remember a loaded .fxb (I've tried all the settings I can find).
-- load the .fxb
-- select a preset
-- Save it as a Reaper preset
-- select the next preset
-- Save it as a Reaper preset
-- repeat ...

Yes, you can use the free WusikVM http://www.wusik.com/ww/products/wusikvm vst plugin which, apart from providing a very nice way of organising your presets for browing indpendently of the plugin they're for, allows you to load in .fxb banks and save all the single presets.

Cheers,
Glyn

Thx, but as far as I can tell it only extracts fxp's from fxb's with no way to convert to Reaper presets?

But a great find nonetheless with its oversampling feature, really makes synths sound completely different, this I'm probably gonna use a lot.

A loosely related question - is there a way to easily edit the REAPER presets - change order, rename, delete bad ones etc?

It didn't seem like an easy task for a text editor.

Sorry, I missed the point that you were looking for Reaper presets not fxp. I have never used Reaper presets, I guess I should look into them

Cheers,

Sounds like a great candidate for a script. Except you can't load or save fxb's via the API yet...

</shameless bump>

Hey, I'm going to bump this again. Maybe the SWS people could figure out support for control of the fx preset menu via script?

I'd at least like to control items in the "+" menu from keycommands, so it doesn't all have to be moused!

It's hard to believe already existing menu items in reaper would be hard to add to the API....

been watching every update for the past year hoping for this.

or maybe someone else has a workaround that isn't going to give me carpal tunnel?

I have to agree. VST preset handling is like a pain in the ... - bum. I remember how cool it was to only middle click a fxp in the media browser of FL studio to load it quickly into the focused instrument. This is something I really, really hate in Reaper. No its THE thing!

In my opinion it should be standard to drag and drop or to modifier click a fxp or fxb from media browser into the opened (focused) instrument. I often created presets and banks and put them into folders for different instruments. To find (by listening) a fitting fxp is nearly impossible because of Reapers handling. I already did a FR for that some time ago. But no one even answered, hence I guess it doesn't bother anyone else.

So ...

Such tasks are perfect examples for AutoHotkey. Once I extracted all midi settings (sysex mostly) for all devices from the Bitstream 3X editor and sent the results to the developer of ctrlr. https://ctrlr.org/

I am halfway there as of this post:

https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...2&postcount=20

This will save the currently selected fxp as a reaper preset. I also have a script to get a list of the factory presets in a vst. So I just need to create an action to go down that list one by one, wait a second or two (or ten) for each one to load, and then save it to the reaper preset ini.

Should be there soon. Posting this now so I can find the thread easily.
