Default One Of The Rarest Events From Waves! A SALE!

Picked up the CLA Bass with the $20 off coupon this afternoon. Here's my link:

Yep, they'll probably have a sale in celebration of the sale.

The day will come when Waves don't have a sale you'll see!

Lmbo!

The "half annual" sale, not to be confused with their Christmas sale, New Year's sale, Valentine's sale, St. Patrick's Day sale, Memorial Day sale, Fourth-of-July sale, etc.

I love how all their products are perpetually 96,754,431% off list price, but whenever a sale kicks in they increase to roughly 45 billion percent off.

Also, it's kinda ironic that even with a 45 billion percent discount, the plugins cost more or less what an average plugin would cost...

P.S. (This is all in fun, I actually like Waves. Maybe not as much as Izotope or Fabfilter, but hey!)

And don't forget the "3am Sunday Morning Sale"

Except with even more sales between the sales.

I think it's entertaining that Waves has discovered they'll make much more money selling software at a reasonable price, but they've had to figure out a way to backtrack on their prices without appearing to be backtracking on their prices. $29 is a sweet spot for their plugins; I bet 2019 will be the Year of the Omni Channel for them, whereas at $75 it would be another plugin in the list.

There are at least 4 programs I would buy right now it they were in the sub-$50 bracket instead of $450. Everybody wants to be in that Classic 1992 Photoshop category, except unlike then there are dozens of programs vying for that $450.

A "full price" waves plugin is like a shiny Charizard, in Pokemon verbiage... Has anyone actually seen one except that kid with a Gameshark?

Lol that joke is extra dumb

PRS is my go-to for guitar amp sims now. I have quite a few others including all the NI stuff, Waves GTR and a few from Plugin Alliance (Bassdude was my previous favourite) but once I demoed PRS, I made the purchase. The others don't get used much any more.
Bassdude is still a fantastic emulation of the Fender Bassman but the PRS simply suits what I do more.

I might add here another note on Plugin Alliance. They make some incredible plugins and many of them are on all my recent mixes. I really love their Console N (Neve VXS) channel strip. It has replaced Waves Scheps Omni Channel. I also really love their SSL E & G channel strips too, both of which are officially endorsed by SSL themselves.
As for compressors, my current favourites are Plugin Alliance Lindell 254E (spot on emulation of the Neve 2254 comp/limiter), the 354E three band version of the 2254 and the bx_townhouse bus compressor (SSL bus comp).

I could go on for days about Plugin Alliance but I want to make it clear I am not paid by them, nor am I sponsored by them. I'm simply a huge fan of their work!

Must be good gear.

I've had my fill, though one never knows when an itch needs that special scratch. I'm having plenty of compression fun with the FF Pro-C2.

Has anyone tried the other Waves deessers ? Only used its classic and the Renaissance one.

I'm having an excellent time with the Harrison AVA DeEsser. Recommended, and they have sales here and there as well. No dongle BS either.

I like their free tilt filter, but too bad they don't run sales like Waves, cos OMG those prices! But which plugins do they actually make? It looks like a shop for a bunch of different devs to me.

I guess I'll keep an eye on the PRS though, for next time it's $30...

I'm really loving the FabFilter purchases I made recently too. I now have their limiter, multiband comp, single band comp and EQ and they're all must haves for transparent work for me now.

Regarding de-essers, I did purchase the new Waves one recently but haven't really done a lot with it yet.

Plugin Alliance is a group of developers who all work closely together. The company itself was formed by Dirk Ulrich and the plugins they developed directly are under the Brainworx banner. It's all top notch stuff and the modelling is spot on. They have just started releasing some of the plugins they developed for the UAD hardware platform in native versions (such as the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor).
I'm seriously blown away by the results I'm getting here. These plugins are seriously efficient on CPU but sound incredible.
They do have regular sales and they send out discount vouchers to their customers for further discounts on top of the sales regularly.
Even if they didn't do sales at all, they are one of the few companies I'd be happy to pay full price for their plugins. Seriously, they ARE that good!

Anyone compared the Waves dbx 160 to Major Tom? I like Major Tom, but the 160 sounds like it could be even punchier? Or should I get the MJUC? Do I even need another compressor? Grrr...
