Default %^&%&^ you python. What am I doing wrong?

Not sure why I can't get this right.
Sorry if this has been covered before, but I'm too agitated to bother to search.

in prefs I have to set the path for the .dll and force it to use 'python3'
It says python is installed, however when I go to create a new script, I get a window that says python can not be initialized.

resarted, reinstalled, several times.

Win XP 32 bit. Reaper 4.402.

Default It's just a little weird

What have you set it to?

Mine looks like this but I'm 7x64 this is Reaper 32-bit

Custom path to dll directory: C:\Windows\System32
Force Python to use .dll: python33

Weirdly, for 64-bit Reaper it has the .dll extension.

Good luck.

I have Python v3.3.2 on my WinXP32 (Reaper 4.5repre4). I had to choose the right path and force to use "python33":

("python33" or "python33.dll" - both of them should work.)

I remember that I had some problems with this too.

After installing 3.1.4, 3.2 was auto detected. and working. I can force 3.1 to work also. 3.3 and earlier 2.7.5 are still a no go even if I force it.

but nothing was working until I installed 3.1.4.

so strange.

on a different computer, (still XP) I was able to get it to work after uninstalling 3.3 and installing 3.2.

I dunno maybe I can't get 3.3 to work due to the fact that I probably haven't update windows in like 2 years.. LMAO.

if it ain't broke, don't break it.
