Reducing with of drumkit?

Hi,

I'm using Superior Drummer, and I feel like the drumkit is too wide in the mix. I'm quite happy with how it sounds and I'm not that skilled on mixing drumkits, so I simply reduced the width of my drum-bus instead. Is it really that simple, or did I just do a major no-no?
