Default Direct hardware control for Sends

Probably a human interface error, just can't work it out.
I've managed to assign a hardware control to pretty much everything I need, and quickly and easily too, but not sends??
It's doing my head in!

This doesn't make any sense, I must be mising something. When mixing, the sends are probably the most touched controls next to level and pan, yet there is no way I can see to assign hard control to them (and to have for example the first 3 sends on any track always respond to the same mid CC/channel, like I can do with eq controls.

Can someone put me right here?

Thanks!

It's not yet implemented.
But it's an elevated feature request which means that it probably will come in the near future.

Until then, there are workarounds like inserting a volume plugin to send to another track to use with your hardware controller. (I don't use a control surface, but it's described somewhere here).

Ok that's cool, well at least I know it's not me :0) Thanks for the info.

Actually I have one more question if I can pick your brains again?
Somethign else that's p[robably a simple setting I'm missing.
When I open the FX window for a track, I always get the 'main' fx window and the gui too.
But most of the time I only want to see the gui, I don't want the big settings window to come up, am on a laptop so it's not very convenient. And when I close the main track fx window, the gui disappears as well which is actually pretty annoying.
With 2 screens, if I move the gui over to the other screen then close the fx window, the gui remains, so all good, but I'll be on the road soon with only the laptop screen so I need to find out how to change that behaviour so only the gui comes up.
Is it possible?
Thanks for your time :0)

Matt

If you have ticked "show FX inserts when size permits" for the mixer (click the "?" on the mixer's master channel) and your mixer is big enough to show the inserts you can click there to just bring up the floating FX (without the chain window).

Bringin the floating FX windows up from the track FX buttons is requested but I'm not aware of any other possibility.
Anyone knows ?

I didn't have the show insert fx ticked, but after having done so it's still the same, but I've just realised that it's because I'm on the 64bit version and this is only happening to the bridged plugs!
And that's normal behaviour for now it seems.
Sorry for the cluelessness but I've only been using it for a few days :0)

I'll get there ;0)
