Default Reaper Doesn't Save The Files To The Referred Path

When I save file in this way "File - Save File As"

It shows me Desktop to save the file.

Desktop is not the path I set at;
Options - General - Paths

Do I have to choose a path to save files everytime?

Only if you are doing a "save file as" - necessary for new projects.
Once you have saved the file initially, it will always save to that location, unless you change it.

If you hit "save as" again for an existing, already saved project instead of "Save", it will always ask you where you want to save it instead of just saving it.....

No problems. Glad I could help.

Incidentally, this can be quite handy if you ever DO want to save another copy of a project to a different location.
Only thing is, you will have to look carefully at the "fine print" in the "save as" diaolgue, which allows you to create a project folder & then either copy (if you want to keep the info with the existing project as well) or move the contents of the project (MIDI and audio files, etc.) to the new project folder location.

I set up a project folder when I do the first "save as" for ALL my projects. Saves a lot of confusion later.
