can anyone post a PNG screenshots of all the elements in different states, needed to port it 2 Reaper... dont have PT here and many webshots are lo-res.

- i did look at doing this sometime ago but you really need 24x24 icon sizes, smaller meters, etc... as the emboss effects get difficult on 16x16... especially the mixer, which is a very minimalist approach to the usual sx/sonar mixer layouts.

may be worth a fiddle again if there's time... sure a few of the other theme builders could help out here

btw >> the developement rate of this app just blows me away... wait till people start wakeing up to this... most probably only know about pre v1.0 and figured it would take 2 years to develope into a useful app... next time they look, they would be kicking themselves for upgrading their existing apps... ACID support, surround (4 post guys) & pre-roll record to cursor punch. etc... not much more you need unless we all get into "pixel peeping mode"

great!

two small 'thingies';

the choice of colors for switching around in the docking area
text= black
background= now is a bit less than black

the fx icon
the color for text 'FX' maybe in black as well [like the 'I/O' icon]

gonna use this one after a next update!

cheers

Default That was quick!

Hey Eli!

Great job man! Wow can not wait to try this out. Love what i saw in the screenshot. By the way, one thing i notice, if you're working on an update of this THEME of PT, please do not forget to try to come up with some cool Icons of the Open/Save/Snap Grid, Fx etc.. under the Menu.. that would be cool...

U know to give it that OSX or M-powered PT7 look all over. Great job man.. This is a very very good START as u said... i'm sure there is more to come later on!!

Bravo!!

Whats gona be next? The new SAMPLITUDE 9.01 version? Looosk fantastic!!

Look under Options/Preferences/Appearance and see if the check box "Allow Color Themes to override is checked. If it IS then the Icons that go along with a color theme will replace the exiting ones, if it is NOT the the THeme will change but the Icons will remain the ones that are indicated in the dropdown box......

Man, thats wierd....I was certain that I was responding to someone asking why the icons did not change when they changed the Theme.....

Thank you for getting rid of those "Windows 98 looking" icons in the upper left hand corner.

Solar,
PT1 has a slightly shaded background and the media items are a different colour and darker when selected.

Thanx

PT2 is great [folder icons, transport bar...]

...
it seems the FX icon is 'melting' when on ...
some vague lines underneath 'FX'

change track background color to black to see this.

almost there!

thanks!

cheers

hey, Eli. Nice work! I especially like the toolbar icons... very nice.

I'm no expert, but i did notice that the track buttons (solo, mute, phase, etc.) have harder corners on the bottom than the top. You've got the pixels in the bottom corners pretty dark. It makes the buttons look like they're more pointed on the bottom than on the top. Maybe softening those bottom corners would make the bottom match the top a bit better.

Otherwise, the theme looks great!

PT2 has now become my default color theme and icon set, with minor tweaks to change the track background and media item peak colors just a tad.

Very slick and pro looking...

The icons across the top are easy to read and look great too.

Well done!

All I did was darken a couple of things and change a couple of colors, stuff that anyone can do. This is what it looks like at this point:

Here's a link to a high resolution full-page version:

I would be willing to share it with folks if they want it, but it's really no big deal to change the few colors that I did...

Default Changed Selected Track Color

I love this theme, but I was having a little trouble seeing which track was selected. So I changed the background color of the selected track to match the blue color of the the icons in the upper right hand corner. Works great. When you select the track it turns blue along with the mixer strip that is selected.

Fantastic work ! I love it !

Could you please upload your themes mrmoon / jimst57 as .zip ?

Another PT specials are the "aquatic level meters", moving so smoothly. Is there any chance to emulate this look in Reaper ?

OK. Let me see if I can get this to work... If you need it specifically as a "zip" I can upload that too.

I also have another version where the wav data is displayed just a touch lighter than the one I'm posting. If you'd like that as well, just let me know.

You'll need to have the PT2 theme icons and such installed for my theme to work, I believe.

I didn't really create a new theme. I just loaded the PT2 theme and in preferences picked a new color for the "selected" track.

For me it made it much easier to see which track is selected.

Not sure if this is the effect you are looking for (I forgot what PT's meters look like), but try:

Preferences > Colour Theme > uncheck "Theme has interlaced VU meters"

That gives you a smooth look to the meters, instead of having them look like a series of small "LED bars".

Zzzatt something close to what you were looking for?

I like that smooth look myself.

Especially since Reaper actually disables all CPU eating functions on a track when it is muted. With a panel like that the track is still there but not taking up screen space.

and that coupled with the new screen-sets functionality being built in right now would be killer. Key presses to switch between edit groups: drums, guitars, Vox... that would be killer.

@ scottdru: well... I have them unchecked, but still I think about a 3D look, sort of mercury-in-glass. In Pro Tools the first thing you notice when you open the mixer is how smootch and rounded are the meters.

@ Tallisman: I'd love to see view/edit/solo/mute groups in Reaper. I think the easiest way would be adding colored "strips" to all TCPs.

The color indicates the track is in one of the groups. Left-click on the strip makes the whole group active/inactive, right click opens a configuration window for groups, similar to the Screenset list, and here you may edit parameters of the group (is it a edit/mix/view-hide-resize/solo/mute group).

And by allowing many colored strips added to one tracks, this track can be a part of many groups simultaneously.

Or the simple PT way will do, too
