Colors
Hello,
Reaper users.
Just a question:
If I want to see the red color for MIDI events in a track (say rgb 251, 2, 7) why am I forced to see dark red, really dark (rgb 131, 0, 9 or something like that...)?
Since I installed Reaper 6, the Default 6 theme and version of all previous themes shows me MIDI notes with dark gradient and dark (blurred) color like for example in Default 5.
Is it possible to go back and see no dark gradient, red as red, light yellow as light yellow and so on?
Best regards
P.S:
I'm on a Apple computer, MACOS 10.15.7 (Catalina) and two 4k Displays.

Ok,
I see 352 people looking at this post and it doesn't seem to interest anyone.
Is that such a strange question?
Or was I rude?
If I have been I apologize, English is not my language.
But I have a weird feeling of "if you don't want stupid answers don't ask stupid questions"
Was the question so stupid? To manage my eyes (like the eyes of all of us) is not a secondary topic.
When I open a midi tracks with a dark color on a dark background it is barely visible. And, sometimes, I need to open more than one midi track.
If anyone knows how to help me i would appreciate it very much.
Thank you Reaper people anyway

Thanks for answering.
I am a producer and orchestrator.
I work by coding the color for each tool.
Ex:
Red> Violins I
Yellow> Violins II
Green> Viola
and so on.
This allows me to immediately recognize, even after hours of work, which instruments are in the MIDI window.
It is very important ( for me) not to strain eyes.
It is necessary to be able to choose the color I need.
May be I need light colors, may be I need medium, maybe I need dark.
For shure I'm using my eyes !!!
As can be seen in the first two JPGs attached here
--- chosen yellow is one thing > what you see another.
-- chosen red is one thing > what you see another.
The overall view, as seen in the third file, is not clear to understand what happens on the fly, who is playng that note, that section.
That said, the ears continue to work but the visual part really wastes me a lot of time, I get tired, and in the end I'm very stressed.
No other DAW has the power of Reaper which I have been using for a few years now but since these changes were introduced with theme 6, this is the situation.
Even with themes like 5 or 4, the situation is with no return: choose one color and you see another.
I hope there is a way to work on this!
Thank you so much for your patience

This is when coloring by track and media, correct?
I've tried every setting in the theme tweaker to no avail. This combined with past forum posts lead me to believe this is just not adjustable. I would love to be wrong though.

Yes, you are right.
But for sources, MIDI channel, velocity ecc there are no dark gradient.
Why is not possible to avoid this also for Track and Media (at least like an option)?
Thanks anyway...
but for shure there must be a way...
May be someone could help...
Best

Yes I agree, I basically stick to channel or pitch coloring for this reason.

So ... I'm not alone,
I switch to channel or source like you but how many times in a project?
Again, Thank you for answering!
