Default Native Instruments. Straylight

New instrument.Looks very interesting but is it true you need an i7 processor to run the program?

SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
STRAYLIGHT needs a fast CPU to run and requires an Intel i7 processor or higher.

There doesn't seem to be a trial version to test it. Ah well.

When they say i7 they don't even state which generation of i7, just a "fast CPU"

A top end new desktop i5 can be vastly more powerful than an older i7 laptop CPU so I don't know what they are playing at with that recommendation - I guess it's difficult since NI cannot know how many instances the user is likely to run simultaneously.

I guess this recommendation is playing it safe for the average laptop machine, especially as Kontakt is normally less CPU intensive compared to high end software synths.

You have been away too long, Bob. Marmite - you either love it or hate it.

Yep, i7 and closer to 4 GHz or over it if at all possible. Hyperthreading actually welcome this time around.
