Default iPlug no longer supported and iPlug2 "not ready" so...what to use?

The latest release of iPlug is no longer being updated and there is a caveat saying iPlug2 "is not ready for production".

So, what should we use to develop new plugins TODAY?

BTW - it also appears that iPlug2 is not not backward compatible with iPlug1 projects. That means we will need to maintain both sets of projects for some time. Any suggestions there?

The aim is that iPlug2 should be fairly backwards compatible, with some work required to update a project.

iPlug2 is the best thing to start with today, but you have to accept the fact that it is not quite ready yet, since it is a massive project with no-one paid to work on it. I am hoping to clean things up in the near future. The more constructive help i can get with that the better.

There is no point grumbling about the situation, or posting endless forum posts for every single time you can't work out how to do something.

Perhaps join the slack channel?

“Grumbling?” Who’s grumbling? I am here on the WDL forum asking questions about WDL-OL. Why is that a problem to be addressed somewhere else?

I was not aware of this. So is slack the preferred platform to discuss iplug2 development and improvement? Will join then.

slack is a popular team chat app... we have a channel for iPlug, you can join it here:
