Introducing IKO 3D speaker

I am somewhat disappointed* to introduce IKO:

IKO is a 3D beam-forming speaker. It's able to project a sound anywhere in the room. Considering the major problem for 3D sound from speakers is the number of speakers you need and the very limited sweet spot resulting, this may be the future. Just one box, equipped with 20 speakers gives a far better result than the typical 8 box cube that would be needed for 3D sound in your studio or living room.



* One may think one has an original idea, usually someone else has had that idea too. These guys have invested a decade of research, while I had the idea only a few years ago. I just found a suitable speaker chassis to build my first prototype months ago.

Heard a simpler cubic version in Hamburg in 2018 (or maybe it was Graz in 2015) and even with its simpler configuration, what it did was very interesting.

i recently read that 5g towers use beam forming to increase range and bandwidth by targeting a user with a higher intensity signal..

Ah, OK.

Yes, same principle. It took off when antenna design software came available late eighties. Audio took longer. No billions to be made, contrary to cellular.
