Alignment looks better for the Track Manager in this dev. However, the Group column is now left aligned when previously it was centered in dev0817. If you could go back to centered for the Group column like it was in dev0817 I think that would be better. Everything else looks good to me.

dev0819

dev0817

Also, in the Group Manager, the Tracks column is still right aligned, which is odd. Think this would be better centered as well.

Thanks for dealing with all these small niggles.

The "group" column is a string (you can rename groups) so it's left-aligned. The "tracks" column is a number so it's right-aligned.

Ok, thanks. I shall desist with the niggling nagging then.

No Spaghetti, please . Rather Pizza: a sophisticated FX container (meta-plugin) concept could be exitingly nice.

Whoa, what a great idea. Amazing that no one has posted about something like this before.

Happily there are hundreds of messages on improving the FX chain paradigm in the feature request forum, showing many ideas on that behalf (including "wires" and "containers"), but of course this is not supposed to be discussed here. Hence only a provided.

When I look at the Feature Branches which are in Development ATM I am stunned...
Such great things happening inside of Reaper all at once. The "CPU Silent..." feature totaly hit me by surpise when it was first included (I wished for it for quite some time). Love it, thank you so much.

I can´t make much out of "internal pin managment..." and what it really means but it sounds promising and I am looking forward to it no matter wich route the devs decide to go there. (Can´t wait until the curtain is lifted...)

Devs you are really inspiring, being such productive... Impressive.

+1 !
Reaper is the most impressive piece of software I know, and getting more impressive with each new release.

Adding the 3rd party devs to the picture (e.g. ReaPack, SMS, CSI, ReaLearn, Many JSFXes) ..... unbelievable.

Hey devs, it's really outstanding cool, how reaper is growing and improving.
And thanks for the possibility to have a thread to discuss the development.
And maybe it's better to bring opinions earlier than later to the table before certain changes go into an official release.

With respect I wanna second the post by Klangfarben.

From an other perspective, centered group column would separate the indication from Tracknames. So imo the difference would make sense. And it also looks cleaned up.

[Edit: Imo also centered Numbers for "Tracks" under the Track Group Manager would be logical, if it would differ this column from Tracknumbers.]

I wanna also communicate my thoughts about the margins for manager windows:

when undocked, on both sides the margins appear.
when docked on left side: only left margin appear
when docked on right side: only right margin appear
when docked to a docker in the middle: no margin appear

Just my 2 cents, thanks

It could still be centered, though.

Also, the [-] icon in the folder expand/collapse column isn't centered either:

I know it was a while ago since this was updated, but I just noticed that when the improvements to bridged plugins were made to not add the default REAPER menu bar (presets, param, I/O, UI, mix, bypass), the shortcut action for Delta Solo has stopped working. More accurately, it's not being passed through from the FX floating UI to REAPER. (In the same way that spacebar isn't passed through, which would be another nice fix.)

More info: The plugin I'm talking about in this instance is Bootsy/Variety of Sound TesslaPRO MKII (which is made is SynthMaker, IIRC) and I have it set to default (automatic).

"Includes feature branch: internal pin management overhaul for future extension"

Could be barking up the wrong tree here, but I am hoping this feature branch is leading to a native FX container/rack system.

It's mostly internal changes for eventually supporting more than 64 channels per track.

Not for me … i was hoping some intuitive and fun Gui which would allow me manage/experiment complex routing and layers of sound even after smoking a spliff.

Hello all, regarding to this:

"# VKB: use the same indicator for externally-played notes to vkb-played notes"

Is this related to MIDI editor keyboard also? Because I asked instructions in newbieland that is it possible to make the keyboard on the left in MIDI editor to flash the keys when note event is triggered in the editor, in the same way some plugins show played notes in their virtual keyboards? So if there (apparently?) isn't such feature yet, I'm also very much wishing for this. Maybe different colours for externally MIDI triggered notes and notes triggered from piano roll?

No. The color used in +dev0817 to indicate midi keyboard input for armed tracks in the Virtual Keyboard were shaded different (keys N and J are pressed). I didn't even notice.
