snapping of points works here (when snapping is enabled)

maybe check that you don't have 'move envelope point ignoring snap' as default left drag action in your mouse modifiers

-----

+1 for envelope love

- point size / colour
- (easy) set display range of values per envelope

situations where this second point is particularly useful include

- envelopes with large / non-linear ranges - like readelay (either length)

i find that the ranges of values targeted for automation often represent a minute fraction of the spectrum of available values, and that the resultant envelope (almost flat) can difficult/impossible to 'read' just by looking at it.

if anyone knows of a script which helps in this regard...

^^^ in my mind was snap vertically to neighbor/existing values/0 and not to grid. Thanks

Another big +1 for this.

After so many years using REAPER, I still haven't managed to find any theme tweaks or other solutions that allow me to see whether or not envelope points are selected without using the screen zoom feature on my Mac.

I'm not sure if @Justin has seen this thread yet, or if he might already have plans to work on the issue. But it seems odd that it hasn't been addressed by now considering that this would be categorized as an accessibility blocker for many users - especially the visually impaired.

Fingers crossed that this will be resolved soon!

It's not so easy to distinguish selected points even with good eyes, because points have border.

You might enjoy LUPA zoom in the microsoft store better. It has much less distortion and more options.

I've changed my mind. Points are too big and take too much space causing more ram load and maybe more procesor power usage. Would be smarter too shrink them instead.

I feel the intention was rather doing some kind of April fools joke, maybe with a hoped for side-effect of drawing some attention to the FR.

Intention was to save some computing power in Reaper to maximize performance which is crucial for artists programming a music.

I always am happier when I listen to a music which is cpu optimally created. Somehow I hear it in those digital bits, you can judge from composition and tone color that this freakin computer was quite relaxed doing its stuff, anyway... I also think that fonts in Reaper could be a bit thinner, we still can read a thing but imagine the performance boost. Fingers crossed.

I've just tested Reaper 7.0pre10 and it seems the larger automation point is not planned for the next major release :-(

The size of the automation points as well as the hit point area are maddening imho. It makes working with automation very, very frustrating.

I'm also baffled as to the lack of response, although admittedly I'm often baffled on a day-to-day basis. But in this case, the consensus for a very long time has been that this is problematic. And honestly, compared to many of the things we request, this would be such an easy fix. The devs could have something to test ready to go tomorrow without breaking a sweat.

Not that such talented individuals would ever really sweat...

By far the most frustrating part of Reaper to me is when devs don't comment on very active issues.

I have to admit, I haven't found this to be much of an issue. I'm running Linux, so your mileage may vary on this solution, but I went into my accessibility setting and made my cursor really big. In general, I see no downside to a very big cursor. In Reaper, even though this doesn't increase the clickable radius of a point, but it makes it more obvious when you are hovered over a point or not.
