Default Input/Output Gain knobs on plugin windows [IMAGE]


Just look at that image! You know it makes sense! 👍

An invaluable feature - SURELY??

1. Level matching for accurate A/Bing - EASY.

2. Don't have to rely on plugin developers to implement it

3. Scripters can make use - e.g auto level-matching.

4. It would be universally accessible via automation.....

YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS...?

Freaking controllers (MIDI/OSC/MOUSEWHEEL)...

...THE SAME FOR EVERY PLUGIN


Last request:
Include a modifier and action to link the INPUT and OUTPUT to inverse values. +3db IN = -3db OUT

C'mon - it's a no-brainer... surely???

Yeah definitely have wanted this. Most plugins do come with their own but your MIDI controller point is a good one. I also have wanted a M/S tickbox that encodes and decodes around the plugin automatically, but some people told me this was 'bloat'. It's literally one small bit of math being turned on or off...

Absolutely!! This addition would be another reason why Reaper is light years ahead of all the other DAWs.....can't stress enough what a difference this would make to help gain staging between plugins.

It's one of those small things I love. They silently, discreetly improve usability and uniformity. They look easy to implement, require little graphics/UI reworking, add no bloat and don't change any paradigm.

+1 to gain in/out!
Instant gain staging for everyone, everywhere. Uniform control via MIDI or OSC.

+1 to mid-side encode/decode wrapping option!
Instant m-s for all stereo plugins.

+1 for this supposedly trivial to implement feature.
maybe even just a single slider with "autogain", e.g. subtract/add from the output what was added/subtracted on the input. two faders yield more flexibility though, but they should then be linkable for easy unity-gain operation.

Yes.....and add available metering too

Not all plugins have I/O controls, and not all have meters. Would be cool to have standard Reaper metering available. That could result in more user developed plugins since some of the basic graphical stuff is handled. Plus, itt could lead to other cool stuff like distortion graphs, phase scopes, etc.

Of course it is useful.
Even with the respective meters would be even better (JS: plugins have such meters, though the Input\Output knobs are usually slider in their GUI).
