Default Light, small 500 watt 120-220v step up converter?

I have one of those super cheap Harley Benton GPA100 pedalboard amps and it is awesome, but

It is set for 230v. I have to run it on this giant voltage converter.

I see a bunch of 500 watt smaller converters on amazon but the reviews talk about smoking all your gear, no thanks.

Anyone of an electrical bent have a recommendation?

A pedalboard won't need 500 watts. I'd be surprised if it used even 5 watts unless there are tubes in it.

So you could probably get a smaller, lighter, cheaper transformer for it.

You any good with a soldering iron ?

Here's a dead simple mod to the 400, there might be a similar one for the 100:

That's like saying a 100 watt marshall solid state head only needs 5 watts

Meh. If you don't describe what you're talking about I just have to guess. Good luck with it.

"Harley Benton GPA100 pedalboard amps "

I thought that was pretty descriptive. Anyway

I went and soldered that bridge, so far so good, I'm not 100% sure its as loud as it was at 230v, but its LOUD and it hasn't heated up yet..This may be a MAJOR win

You euro people have to be cracking up. You got this thing, for less than 100 dollars, that turns any modeller into a head, while over here we're trying to figure a safe way to run it on our 120v, or pay four times the price

That is pretty funny. Especially if the 4x price increase was for a modification that easy to make.
