well it's totally easy Just make a screenshot of REAPER, save the pic and upload it at a free storage/sharing site such as imageshack, stashbox or uploadz. For the screenshot I use the free IrfanView - http://www.irfanview.com/, hitting an Irfanview hot key with REAPER in full screen mode.

So - I got REAPER running and want to make a screenshot. I open Irfanview, select Menu/Options/Capture Screenshot. Select "capture whole screen", choose the hot key and hit "Start". Irfanview minimizes; set REAPER to full screen mode, hit the hot key and you're done. The screenshot opens in Irfanview'; save the file in the desired format to a map of your choice.

The screenshots are best saved and posted as .png files (just select it in "save as..." in IrfanView): hardly any loss of detail/color and small in file size.

Or press PrintScreen key, open paint, ctrl+v.
But after the .png is uploaded to an online server,
how to embed it in the post?

Tkx!

Well, I've been tweaking this a bit and I must say it is my new favorite! Got a little creative with the icons and buttons, and tweaked some colors...when I get it completely to my liking (yeah right) I'll put up a shot.

One question, what control is giving that yellow border around the track window resizing area? I can't figure this out...

The "Main window 3D shadow" colour needs to be even numbers for red, green and blue values. so for example if it's somethng like red=145, green=153 and blue=125... it needs to be changed to red=144, green=154 and blue=126

Great, thanks Youn! :-)

Those colors all ended with a "5", so I just changed them all to "6" and bingo, the yellow went away. Looks black now (maybe dark blue?), either way much improved for my taste.

Default Dumb question perhaps?

I tried the black_silk-ui and none of the buttons show up as they do in the sceenshots. All I see are seemingly empty place holders with a symbol.

What am I doing wrong?

There are two items, the theme file and the folder of icons. Place both in Reaper's Color Themes folder. Then in Preferences for color themes, choose the Black Silk option in the drop-down menu for "Theme requests UI images".

This is cool because you can use different buttons with different themes.

HTH!
