Default Deleting wavs from project folder

Hello everyone,

I've asked this before, a long time ago, I'm asking again in case anyone has found out how to do it, maybe with the updates that have been released since then.

When I am recording something, say a solo, if I fluff it, I just hit "backspace" and it is deleted from the Reaper interface but it still goes into the project folder. I'd like it to not save it if I have hit "backspace" so then I don't have to go and delete the others manually from the folder. I know it's not a huge problem but it would be slick.

Cheers

Phil

There's the action Transport: Stop (DELETE all recorded media) which you could bind to backspace. File > Clean current project directory can also be useful.

yes the action clean project directory is the one

save your project so it has all the used wav files in the project folder...

run that action and it will give you a list of what it finds that is NOT USED in the project and the choice to delete them

Thanks,
I'll look into that but I'd really like to just be able to hit backspace to clear the current track from the folder. So as soon as I make the mistake, backspace removes the wav from the daw and the project folder then I quickly press ctrl R and go again.
My first daw came free with a Roland V-Studio 20 and it put nothing in the folder until you pressed save. I cut my teeth with that daw so I guess that's part of the reason I like that feature.

Sorry about that, it was my frustrated head talking.

I was going to install on another computer but got lost down the rabbit hole off sorting this one out.

I'll do that tonight, I might end up sticking with 5 it saw good enough for me. Maybe this is a bug that needs the developers to look at.

Cheers
