Wow the Mixdown Selection script (windowless and edited to taste) is super helpful for me! Thanks for the great work!
Could it somehow be possible to have it detect the end of the fx tail (reverb, distortion etc) and trim the tail length to that automatically? Or alternatively something like trim item at -60dB? Seems like I can find no action in Reaper for that to use together with your script inside a custom action.

This is great! If I could make a humble suggestion for the 'bounce' option - I currently have it in a custom action with 'set track to next track color' so that it automatically recolours the new tracks to their original colour. Maybe this could be built in as an option if you're still working on it?
Also - it doesn't seem to work reliably on multiple items? If they are all lined up on the timeline but they are different lengths then some of them end up trimmed, or if they are all spread it out it adds in extra silence to fill the gaps - just checking this is expected behaviour and not user error?
I'm assuming it's processing them all at once via one time selection? Great for rendering out stems, but not ideal for items spread out along the timeline... any chance you could tweak it to re-draw the time selection between each render, so that they all remain the correct length? It would be slower I expect, but would be really helpful for me. I might have that figured out completely wrong, so my apologies if I've misunderstood how it's actually working.
Is there a means to donate? I expect I'll be using the script a lot if I can get this last issue ironed out.
Edit - the trimming of items WAS user error - didn't notice I had a time selection selected... (d'oh) However the adding in of additional silence is still there.

It's not a mistake. So it is - time is set one for all items. The script uses standard rendering actions that work as in this script. If there is a group of items, then the length is aligned with the longest item. If each item has its own length, the rendering will work in turn. This will slow down the rendering. I didn’t want this, but maybe later I will think about a new version
As for color, it’s easy. But I am using SWS autocolor. So there will be another alternative version

would it be possible to have a option to render all selected items to a new track as 1 combined sample?

Thanks for your script, it's very useful and provides what in other DAWs is a basic functionality. Can we hope it will make it to ReaPack for all to see and use? Also, updating would become a breeze

Thanks for the feedback The last time I had difficulties with Reapack on windows 10, so I postponed this question, but if possible I will try again

Something like this, but in fact exactly the same functionality is not found in any DAW. Here, more precisely, the functions of different DAWs are combined

Yeah just wanted to say as well that this by now is one of my most used scripts and essential to my workflow. Thanks for providing this and I hope it will always be kept up to date and working with all future Reaper versions.

So far, there are no conflicts with new versions. If the time selection is removed for some good reason, almost all scripts will stop working But, since scripts use native render actions, this is unlikely to happen, or will go to area selection

Updated the mixdown selection script, now the track goes to the end of the track list. It is less convenient, but more correct, because if there are FX in the parent tracks, they will not be re-process the mixdown track

Thanks Yannick for the superuseful scripts!
Is it possible to have thi optional? Putting it at the end kinda kills my workflow. At least have a boolean or variable AT the top of the script so we can edit it easily.
Cheers!

I'm not sure if the scripts are showing up on my Linux Reaper install.
I have placed the 'scripts for render folder' in the correct ~/.config/REAPER/scripts folder, but for example if i search the actions list for keyword 'mixdown' or 'yanick' , then there are no results.
Thanks in advance if anyone can steer me in the right direction if I am missing something.
( I already have quite a few scripts installed so that is not the issue )

I don't have Linux to test, but most likely you need to add the script to the Action list first

quick Q:
is it normal that the script "Yanick_Mixdown selection (windowless)" creates files @32bits float?
for me is a bit overkill, possible to modify something in the script?
I was looking for it but can't find anything.
Ideally, I'd use the project settings for the new rendered files.
on the other hand I noticed a typo on the penultimate line:
reaper.Undo_EndBlock('Mixdwon selection', -1)
should be *Mixdown*
cheers!

The scripts uses native actions for rendering in place, so it will depend on the project settings here

actions do not show up.
I added the scripts the folder at first , and couldn't find the actions after a Reaper restart, I then added the individual files and yet the same.
I added them to my appData/Roaming/Reaper/scripts folder.
I'm a Reaper newbie so perhaps I'm missing something .

Apparently, I now support only one script of them (mixdown selection windowless), a link to the repository in my signature (no reapack)

oh ok, on my windows install the GUI mixdown one still works, but trying now on OSX the gui script seems to miss some parameters. anyway i'm happy with the gui-less mixdown one, most important for me

hmmm strange, on my osx 10.9 comp the newer mixdown script gives this error:
Yaunick_Mixdown selection (like in Studio One).lua:7: unexpected symbol near '<'
out of curiosity, why are you not supporting the other scripts anymore? seems like i'm after the 'Bounce selection' one. though that one one from your first post still works over here.

Seems that you saved the script with a right click and save as...
Try to copy script text and paste into new script in Reaper's action list.
